solved Can't Enable Command Codes as Tooltips anymore on DCS 2.9.6.57650

Hello,

I used to add the sentence:

OPTIONS_ADD_COMMAND_CODES_TO_TOOLTIP = true

on the MissionEditor.lua file, to get the Command codes of each clickable binding, but the current DCS version does not take that sentence anymore.

 

Is there an alternative way to get the Option -> Controls screen to show these codes?  ... like this:

Well, I'm in the middle of editing some training missions for the F-4E and I can't lose this feature at the moment, so in spite of loving the winter textures of the Kola Map, I will have to revert to the prior version of DCS  ... hopefully that should be possible.

 

Edit: I uninstalled the updated FC3 aircrafts and disabled the active user mods that I had, then proceeded with the downgrade, like this:

 

 

hopefully it won't take too long.

hello,

If you mean succeed  at reverting the dcs update, then yes, I reverted successfully…  but I would have preferred for ED to state a way to get those tooltips again  … well, at least I also got to keep using the vsn aircraft mods with no issue

Hi

Just noted that a DCS patch was released today .. I updated to it, but sadly found that this issue with the command codes tooltips still remains, so I will have to revert to the older version ... will do that tomorrow ... pity   ... and its sad that no one from ED seems to care about it

Works on my end and it's even in Saved Games, so that's a progress, I guess.

Hi, is this all you have to do to roll back the update and how do i uninstall the current fc3 aircraft?

yes, and I uninstalled the fc3 aircraft using the Module Manager, this is on the stand alone version of dcs, on the steam version the procedure is different.

Guys, does this still work for you in the latest version? I didn't need it for some time, but today I tried and the tooltip merely repeated the keybind. I haven't changed that autoexec.cfg since it worked.

EDIT: Forget it please, it works now. I restarted the DCS and it works. I'm messing with bindings for a new module, maybe that threw DCS off, but I don't understand the details. But the main message is - normally, it works!
