S-75 (SA-2) missile system will not fire at Phantom in Marianas terrain.

In your track it looks like there's a LOS issue (the radar though is tracking the Phantoms through a hill and that wouldn't explain the F-5E track) when it does start tracking, the Phantoms are around 7 nmi away and, due to their speed, about 25 seconds from minimum range), which might not be enough to ready the launchers, mind you even waiting longer they still don't want to fire.

In your F-5E track the SNR-75V starts tracking the F-5Es from about 7.5 nmi away and the F-5E's are still within range 40 seconds later (which is roughly when the first launchers start aligning missiles in preparation to fire), one of the F-5Es is just outside minimum range when the first missiles start being fired around 10 seconds later.

I'm not sure, but personally in this case, I think it's a matter of the site not having enough time to acquire and engage the F-4Es for their speeds and distance and the poor LOS of the site is definitely not helping - I don't think there's an inherent problem that prevents it from engaging F-4Es on the Marianas map (be it SAM system, aircraft or map related) - with my own set-up, I've got the S-75 engaging F-4Es on the Marianas map without issue.

The reason we found this bug  is I built the mission and tested it multiple times before the patch and it always fired at the Phantoms. Immediately post patch the very same mission would not fire at Phantoms

I decided to run the mission anyway. We had 4 humans flying Phantoms over the SA-2 site that never fired for two sorties of bombing and strafing all over Rota Island.

On the third sortie, a fifth pilot joined in an F-5, and the SA-2 promptly shot him down.

The tracks are just a demonstration that, under exactly the same conditions, it fires at Tigers and not at Phantoms.

I don't see a problem here. If I open your Phantom track and switch the aircraft from F-4E to F-5E (keeping the same route/speed), they are not engaged either. The problem is a terrain masked approach and not sufficient time for an engagement once the aircraft are unmasked.

If I open the Phantom track and move the SA-2 site to a more suitable position, it engages just fine.

What are you hoping to achieve?

What do you gain in attempting to prevent this issue from being looked at?

Four of us flew over and around an SA-2 battery for 90 minutes in Phantoms and the first non-Phantom, flying with two Phantoms got shot by the SAM battery.

This is unusual behavior and I hope HB looks at it.

The SA-2 is engaging Phantoms perfectly fine

Just place the batery with a better LOS, set the skill higher for better reaction time and set Alarm State to red to be prepared from the start

Your mission with those little changes = SA-2 firing. HB doesnt have anything to do here

I am just judging the track that was being provided. If you have an issue, you need to supply a track that is demonstrating it so others can reproduce it. Otherwise the chances that your issue can be resolved is next to zero.

I am not saying you don't have a problem. But the track you provided is not demonstrating a problem.

The changing factor in your mission IS THE SPEED of the planes.

You have a poorly placed spot for the SA-2, no LOS until less than half the range. Skill set at Average, longer reaction time.

The Phantoms are flying way faster, at about 450 knots, so when the SA-2 has LOS they are entering the minimun range so the SA-2 is not firing

The Tigers are flying at around 300 Knots, so the SA-2 has more time to react and engage BEFORE they are to close to the no firing range of the SA-2

Resuming, place your batery in a better LOS position, set the skill higher, and set the Alarm state to RED, for better reaction time.

Remember, the last update is improving AI SAM behaviour, reaction times, etc. So things working one way before, are not going to work the same now.
