Mission 15 - Paco doesn't taxi

Just started Mission 15 after the recent DCS update (2.9.6.57650) and Paco never taxis. Post-mission statistics show damage to Paco and some other aircraft on mission start.

Oddly enough, the mission worked for me the first time, then it stopped. I don't know what changed. I would have thought him being set to immortal (as, I presume, he is from the start) would make him ignore the damage, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

It has been the same for me for the last couple of missions (Mission 15 & 16). The jet moves on the deck due to carrier wake. Therefore I never get the "thumbs up" from the yellow shirts.

I take off from the boat without catapults... Super realistic.

What do you mean due to carrier wake? Is it your jet that moves?

It seems that after saluting by command, Paco started to taxi, I needed to put in some combination of radio menu salutes and requests for launch. The taxi directors then sent me on a somewhat convoluted path to the cat.

never use the radio menu to salute, only the command. The taxi director logic is beyond my control unfortunately.

The thing is, you need to get the taxi directors to acknowledge your salute (otherwise the crew won't hook you up to the cat), and the command doesn't always do that. I got it to work, it seems the mission doesn't break, it's just a little annoying.

Now, if only those MiGs didn't gang up on me every damn time...

OK, found the issue. You have to salute twice for the taxi directors, and you have to use the button. Once to signal that you're ready, and then, once they get ready (without helpers on it's not obvious when they are), salute again to get going.

This didn't cause issues in Speed and Angels, but in Fear The Bones the second salute causes the hand signals for launch to show. Might be worth it to guard against this.

It's set up the same way in both campaigns. Unfortunately this is core DCS code so there's no real way to 'guard' against this.

Can you ensure the aircraft is on the cat, or at least close to it, before the "launch" salute registers? I think it's safe to assume the first two will be on the parking spot.

Hi Reflected.  Hope all is well.

Spoiler

Mission 15b -  Chig keeps locking the North bandit, despite being told to target the South.  Fighting with my RIO costs me valuable time in this engagement.

Thanks.

After the ai is let loose they may change places I have no control over that. You need to splash whichever bandit Chig locks
