updated with the hotfix, now my game crashes everytime

I get to the dashboard and when I click on "Launch DCS" the game crashes every time.  I sent the crash reports for 3 of them already.  I tried the DCS_updater.exe and the DCS.exe.  Both do the same thing.

Prior to the hot fix, I was able to get in the game, so it has nothing to do with mods or the like.

Says down the bottom of your log: STATUS: Can't run C:\Games\DCS.openbeta\bin-mt/DCS.exe: (2) The system cannot find the file specified. so looks like dcs.exe is missing from the bin-mt folder. It's either been quarantined as already suggested or somehow moved or deleted. Do as advised and run a repair and should add it back. I use Malwarebytes and it's not quarantined any of my DCS files and I'm really strict on my scans, I use multiple systems to scan so not just that.

Also if you got really important stuff it's always a good idea to buy an external drive and keep a backup and/or clone of the drive.

My Malwarebytes says removal failed - it's just the ransomware part that bothers me, even if its a false positive, it fills me with utter dread!

Not sure why they released this patch so quickly before testing it thoroughly....
Eagle Dynamics can't do anything about Anti-Virus solutions that flags false positives apart from submitting files that are flagged. Chicken and the egg.

Most errors look the same are what I get but there is a 'NvAPI_Initialize Error' in yours which is Nvidia, might help to repair/reinstall or update your graphics drivers.

I noticed the only dcs.exe reference you got in that log is for the normal version, not bin-mt so try launching MT first.

If you guys are really really that worried, you shouldn't use the Internet on the computer you have important stuff on. Free advice guys. Setup a virtual machine, and do all your browsing, emails and whatnot from that one. Take a snapshot and reset if anything bad happens.
Ransom ware? Don't download software cracks, don't visit dubious porn sites, don't click strange links in strange emails, list goes on. Basically think!
Cheers guys!

Prettry happy with my setup, spent the last 38 years working in specialist security, lot of my qualifications are cyber security so probably a bit over cautious as some of my friends seem to think:megalol:

Thats all good advice.  I don't do any of those things, so when I see a trusted app saying suspected Malware in another trusted genuine app you do stop and think.

I completely understand having worked in IT since 1996 - it's not worth the hassle and disruption even with backups and what not.

Finished the slow repair, but Malwarebytes still complaining about Ransomware with DCS.exe - so I'm calling it a night, good luck everyone I'll check back tomorrow and hopefully ED will put out a solution.
