Here I found some pictures of the real Ka-50

My question @ ED:

The instrumentlight in the DCS-cockpit is yellow.

TangoRomeos Sharkpit-Mod changed this into green/turquoise

What is real? I can't find any pictures of the real cockpit at night!

There is no "real" Ka-50 pit, all current Ka-50s are prototypes and some have undergone modifications. What can be said is that ED modelled the pit of the version they had access to. TR probably had fotos of a different model pit, so his pit does look different. It all boils down to what works best for you.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

TangoRomeo's cockpit lighting is based on his preferences, not what any real Ka-50 has. Personally, I think it's very pretty. :)

The instrument lighting that comes with the game is what the gauges actually look like when lit up, it's not specific to any one Ka-50. Pretty much all Russian cockpit gauges look like that.

not all, but many, for example Ka-50 with no 25 (witch was served as "base model" for DCS developers) now using as "laboratory" for some devices for Ka-52

as far as I know

thank you for the link, Dragon2781. I will never worry about how my cockpit projects look again. :)

great pic of the blue cockpit, JD. I was thinking of painting mine that color. Always liked the blue Russian interiors. Dragon is referring to the analog cockpit guage backlighting. I believe that Shkval is an early type that had the yellow monochrome.

This 'issue' was discussed number of times in English and Russian forums. Yellowish 'Shkval' screen was mounted on the earlier versions of Ka-50. Ka-50 #25 has black-and-white screen. So the game is correct here. Black cockpit and yellow instrumental backlighting suited for using of NV goggles.
