Silent Film Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 My CCRP bombing, both unguided and laser-guided, is always inaccurate. Is this a current common issue, or I am doing something wrong?
=36=Witcher Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Make sure to follow the flight profiles depicted in the manual
Silent Film Posted July 27, 2024 Author Posted July 27, 2024 Um, I have moved the JTAC a bit closer, also marked the enemy tank a bit more precisely, and now my GBU-12s were finally guided by the laser, and hit every time. But unguided Mk-82s are still missing every time, they are some 50 meters away in any direction. But I can't be aiming more precisely.
razo+r Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 CCRP is only as accurate as you are flying. And depending on how you are flying, it can be spot on. So without a track or more infos, we cannot tell you where the issue is.
Recluse Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 (edited) I somehow manage to be very accurate dive bombing (more correctly, usually Toss bombing, but from high enough altitude and steep angle, the bombs will often release in the dive) in this mode with the M2000C...compared to the difficulty I have doing pretty much the same thing in the A-4 and FC Flankers. I think the M2000C is a more stable platform for a ham fist like me. That said, I use the SAMP-250 instead of the Mk.82. I find them either more accurate or more destructive (and thus forgiving of near misses). Edited July 31, 2024 by Recluse 1 1

When I tried with dive bombing, it was accurate. But also more difficult than CCIP. Isn't the point of CCRP that we could be doing level bombing? Anyways, it actually works.

Yes the point of it is for LEVEL bombing, but it works as well or better in dive/dive toss situation. Dive is inherently more accurate. I watched a documentary on Canadian CF-18 trainees, (Jetstream, Episode 8 ) and in the segment where they did bombing, I was surprised to see that they did a designation and used the AUTO mode vs. CCIP. Apparently this is the preferred method in the US Navy as well, or so I have read. Sorry don't have a good reference for this... The Chuck's Guide for M2000C (pg 179) does reference the Dive-Toss method for Low Drag bombs (CCPL). Edited August 2, 2024 by Recluse
