Swetrekki Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 hmmm put a bigger screen on it and call it ABRIS, then i would get one for sure :)
Vekkinho Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I thought about getting one few months ago to simulate MiG-29 MFD... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Yomo Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Apparently, Saitek will be supplying an SDK with the panel... http://tv.hexus.net/show/2009/01/CES_2009_Saitek_present_the_Pro_Flight_Instrument_Panel/ RB (JTF-1) Yomo | 55th FS JTF-1 Discord Asus Prime Z370 MB // Intel i7 8086k @ 5GHz // 32GB DDR4 3200 // RTX 2080ti // Virpil FSSB3 Lighting, Cougar Throttle with USB mod, T-50 Base + Warthog HOTAS, custom collective // Thrustmaster TPR // Vipergear v2 ICP // 3xCougar MFDs // a bunch of DIY Button Boxes // Oculus Rift
rapid Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Looking a lot better due to the SDK. Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII , Ryzen 3900X, Nzxt Kraken Z73, Vengence RBG Pro DDR4 3600mhz 32 GB, 2x Corsair MP 600 pcie4 M.2 2 TB , 2x Samsung Qvo SSD 2x TB, RTX 3090 FE, EVGA PSU 800watt, Steelseries Apex Pro. TM WartHog,TM TPR, Track IR, TM 2 x MFD, Asus VG289Q, Virpil Control Panel#2
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Thats really interesting now with the SDK but honestly you could pick up an old flat panel monitor cut some holes in a pc. of plywood and bam, have an panel with most you instruments displayed for less than there selling this for. All you would need is a drill, hole saw set, plywood and a monitor........ http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Swetrekki Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 your forgetting switches and open cockpit card to manage the inputs. One box can display all the instruments... so for the ones that are building a deskpit i guess these are just what the good doctor ordered :)
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I thought were talking about instrument displays and not about panel building........ I can't figure out how I ever played any sim with the HOTAS on a desk though lol. Once you go simpit you never go back. Yeah for desk simmers these are great but still overpriced IMHO! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
hannibal Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 as much as it its cool, i think implementing gauges is USELESS unless you are planning to use them solely for single player campaigns.. ultimately, it will work off .lua files to read info. now if a SERVER in multiplayer turns this off .lua export for the sake of cheaters, then these guages will NOT work, therefore making guages will be USELESS... do it for eyecandy and single player.. WASTE OF TIME for multiplayer.. find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 LOL not if you play with people who are into simpits like I do! You should fly with Cat101 and our friends, we could accommodate you and your toys! Cat101 and myself are west-siders though so you need to wear blue and be cool with pacific standard time!:pilotfly: http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

LOOK AT LOCKON and the 169th panthers...to this day, that is where everyone goes, and they have .lua turned off.. I dont know.. additional hardware is definitly for the enthusiast... find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Triggerhappy69 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Aaaaaaaaaaaargh..! It hurts me sooo bad, but I have to admitt that you do have a point here..? I did all my LO/FC flying online. Hardly ever bothered to fly single player missions at all. Not that they are boring or anything like that. But real people act more ... well... irrational and "people like"..! And that's just more fun..! And then there is the question weather aditional hardware like simpits, multimonitors, multi function touchscreens or just a superfancy HOTAS disrupts the equality that should exist between online players. It is after all a test of skills against others. And not a question of how much you have spent on hardware..? My own exprience (after getting my *ss kicked a gazzilloin times by some 11 year old with an old Atari joystick) is that gizmoes really don't help AT ALL..! But it does look really cool if you ask me..! I wish there was some way to either make the lua export not usable for cheating so us "gearheads" could use the whirly bits for online flying. But I'd rather that things are more equal like now, than opening for cheaters.. 'Cause i really really REALLY dislike cheaters..! I just wanna *?&%¤* them and then @$£?=* them a while before I brush my teeth and go to bed.. "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Swetrekki Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Solution is obvious, host a server for the pitbuilders on this forum. the god thing is that the "narrower" the game is the less ppl are likely to cheat. I really only play one game online now a days and that is the PR mod to BF2. And while every kid out there cheats in BF2 there arent that many (obvious at least) in the PR community. and dare i say it, i don't think that there are any in the pit builder forum... Cheating only fools the one person, the cheater. He will only realise that he's not good enough on his own...

HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 The only solution is to play with people you know to avoid cheating and sometimes not even then! To each there own I was just throwing out ideas..... http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
