demon702 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 good day all, i have the HMD brightness turned to max and it still looks very dim compared to the HUD. is there another way to make it brighter? Dan.
ED Team Lord Vader Posted August 12, 2024 ED Team Posted August 12, 2024 Hey @demon702 Can you make a screenshot of what you think is "very dim"? Also, what's your screen resolution? Sometimes this can also be caused by monitor brightness settings. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
demon702 Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 hello thanks for responding , i tried adjusting the brightness levels of my monitor it had no effect . Dan .
demon702 Posted August 16, 2024 Author Posted August 16, 2024 Hello Mr Vader did you receive the pictures i sent to you? if you have im sure you can see that the HMD is very faint and hard to see . thanks , Dan (DEMON) P.S i have enjoyed you product since jumping in to DCS world ,coming from the old FSX platform .
ED Team Lord Vader Posted August 20, 2024 ED Team Posted August 20, 2024 Hey @demon702 Yes, I can see what you mean. To be honest, I think this is more or less an acceptable brightness as is. I would a agree it's a bit faint yes, but remember this a projected graphic in the pilots visor, it's not supposed to be too bright or it could interfere with the pilots sight. That being said, have you tried adjusting Gamma levels? I see you're using 1.8, try to increase it to 2.2 (default) and check again. Might not help but 1.8 seems a bit low (for me, at least). Of course this depends a lot on the monitor itself. But try it. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
PacFlyer23 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I have the exact same issue in the F/A-18 with the JHMCS being so faint. I noticed that in the training missions that are available for the module, the JHMCS projections seem much brighter/thicker green than the practice missions I've created in the ME. i5-12600K @ 3.7GHz ¦ 32GB DDR4 RAM ¦ 12GB GeForce RTX 4070-Super ¦ Windows 11 Home ¦ 1TB NVME SSD ¦ Samsung 32” Odyssey Neo G7 4K 165 Hz Curved Monitor ¦ TM Warthog HOTAS ¦ TM Flight Rudder Pedals ¦ Winwing UFC-HUD, PTO2, 3x MFD1 ¦ TrackIR 5
Tomcat388th Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 If any of you are using XRToolkit there is a Sunglass option with 3 presets which helps a lot with seeing the HMD. PacFlyer23 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I am not familiar with XRToolkit. In the A-10 I was able to go into a lua file and adjust the color of its HUD. Is there a way to tweak JHMCS in the F/A-18? i5-12600K @ 3.7GHz ¦ 32GB DDR4 RAM ¦ 12GB GeForce RTX 4070-Super ¦ Windows 11 Home ¦ 1TB NVME SSD ¦ Samsung 32” Odyssey Neo G7 4K 165 Hz Curved Monitor ¦ TM Warthog HOTAS ¦ TM Flight Rudder Pedals ¦ Winwing UFC-HUD, PTO2, 3x MFD1 ¦ TrackIR 5
falcon_120 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I do think the HMD brightness when at maximum its still too dim to see on a normal sunny day. On the contrary the've made a wonderful work on the AH64 Ihadss symbology as even in sunny days you can perfectly see the data against the background. 2
