2circle Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 The new Pri Fly view with the recent DCS release is great. Minor point: it's lit up for daytime conditions, even during night ops. Normally once it gets dark, Pri Fly is illuminated with red overhead lighting so as not to affect night vision. On a related note, there is currently no way for the pilot to adjust the brightness of the lens or landing area lighting. It's pretty typical for the pilot to provide feedback to the LSO on the brightness of the lighting - especially during dusk when the brightness needs to come down considerably as it gets dark outside. Once it's fully dark, the lights are usually kept at a pretty low setting. It might be cool to make this an ATC comm menu feature. Having the lens closeup inset window to aid in glidepath awareness is cool, but at night, it too can be overwhelmingly bright and detract from the ability to see HUD and flightdeck lighting. 3 F-18C/F-14/P-51/F-86 Pico4/Quest2 VR with Intel Core i9 3.0GHZ 24 -Core, 16GB, GeForce RTX 4070 ti

450Devil Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Normally once it gets dark, Pri Fly is illuminated with red overhead lighting so as not to affect night vision. Same applies to the Bridge and Flag decks and in any compartments that give access to the Flight Deck or exposed parts of ship - red overhead lighting is mandatory from sunset to sunrise. 1
Karman Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 It would be great if there was the feature to manage the aircraft carrier lights other than having to take the airboss slot. Let me explain: In our Squadron, once the pilots are placed in their cockpit, we are forced to leave the aircraft slot to go to the airboss slot. And this destroys the pilots' flight report "Logbook" files. In addition, if the "Pilot" adjusts the supercarrier lights and leaves the server to then take a Pilot slot, the settings made previously revert to Auto, simply canceling the desired settings. So my question is, would there be a way to access Air boss by doing AltGr F9 and have access to the aircraft carrier adjustment controls without taking the Airboss slot? That would be the solution. Thanks in advance. 1
