The FC F-5 is missing sidewinder cage/uncage mode that the full fidelity F-5 has. This mode is essential for sidewinder employment. Currently the sidewinder in FC F-5 is in cage mode only by default, which means we have to keep the target directly in the relatively small position where the caged/boresighted seeker can “see” it. This prevents us to pull some lead on the target before firing. This essential functionality should be included in the FC F-5.

Out of curiosity, what happens, if you press the key used to select boresight a second time? That’s what selects caged/uncaged in the F-15C.

No, it doesn't work in the FC F-5
