Dear,

we hope you are enjoying a breezy summer, flying low above the trees on the northern, cooler half of our planet, if not in real, than hopefully at least virtually, and that you enjoy the warmer months of the year with some free time at your hands. Below please find the latest changelog for the Viggen. As always we would like to kindly ask you for your feedback and thank you for your continued support.

Improved autopilot disengage logic.

Hi,
Until now, I could engage / disengage autopilot in ATT/HOJD mode by simply pressing the relevant mode button.
After this patch it's not possible to disengage those modes- is it a deliberate outcome? Could you please elaborate what was the change applied to the autopilot logic?

Unfortunately, quick autopilot disengage will switch off all modes, SPAK inlcuded, which is not that handy for normal operation.
Or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,
Szprynmann

Hello!
Yes it was an intentional change to make the logic of the buttons match them to how the IRL manual describe them to work.
To turn on a mode you just click the mode button you want; Just like before:

  • SPAK will turn on SPAK
  • ATT will turn on ATT
  • HÖJD will turn on HÖJD

The changes are more with the disengage logic.

  • Pressing SPAK will as above turn on SPAK (if not already on), but it will also turn ATT and HÖJD off.
  • Pressing ATT will turn on ATT, but will also turn off HÖJD. SPAK will remain on.
  • Pressing HÖJD turns HÖJD on. To turn it off you press either ATT or SPAK, or the below.
  • Pressing the quick disengage button (SNURK) will turn ALL modes off: SPAK, ATT, HÖJD. It's an emergency button you press in case some part of the system fails and causes the aircraft to fly dangerously.

That said there are two keybinds coming (didn't make it unfortunately) that will enable you to bind physical buttons you have to ATT and HÖJD that will function as they did previously. The in-game cockpit buttons though will remain as described above, only the "toggle" binds will work as before.

Hi @MYSE1234,
Thanks a lot for the description.

I look forward to having those binds added- right now there's just one SPAK bind which is actually SPAK/ATT, hence it's impossible to have a bind that would switch off HOJD and ATT, just to leave the SPAK on- that requires mouse click on SPAK, which is not very convenient for me (I'm using HOTAS binds for HOJD and ATT).

Cheers,

There is a bind for it: SAS mode SPAK flight stabiliser

How to attack targets with bk-90 that are at higher elevation, in short how to set QFE when we are attacking targets on mauntain from valley, do we have to climb way above hill we are attacking, do we have to set QFE for launch point or for target point, is bk-90 "behaving" in such scenario?

When you mixed with RB-15 You made QuickReleaseMode to disappear in the system.  The missile doesn't seek after launch, just flying blind.
