primebasic Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 It would be nice if the updater had resume, i am trying to reinstall DCS from scratch and have had to restart the download three time because my router keeps dropping connection, it all ways starts from the beginning...........................starting to wounder if i will ever get it downloaded! Thanks
Art-J Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 I recall long ago It used to pick up where it left (based on temporary contents of "_dowloads" folder) if connection was broken. Doesn't it do it anymore? 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Doesn't it do it anymore? It should. At least it does for me. I wonder if the manifest file for some reason gets broken, it might start over. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

Thanks It might look like it's restarting from scratch because it starts over a ZERO downloaded and ZERO % but if you look at the total to download it should be smaller than the previous time you've ran it. Confusing if you don't know this because it definitely does look like it's starting over from scratch. 1
Ironhand Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 As already explained, if you check the amount to be downloaded, it gets smaller each time you restart the download. It’s just starting the present download at “0” and counting from there. I need to restart multiple times every update. If you watch it as it starts, it’ll check to see how much is downloaded, check for files that have been downloaded and are no longer needed, then start the download from there. 2 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
