Abolish the trial.

The message on this topic is important for the authorities and for us users. 

they repeat this process by opening a new account, using a trial version and opening a new account when the trial version expires. my request from you is to give the trial version by evaluating it according to the account history. we users buy by paying, but those who do not know themselves are experimenting by opening a new account. show sensitivity in this issue.

we are aware some people feel the need to cheat the system sadly, but it is also a good way to bring new people into DCS and most of them use the free trial as intended, to try before you buy, those that do cheat the system can risk having their accounts deleted.  

If you do not want free trial users on your servers for example you can exclude them by ticking the option in the advance settings on the server.

Love the trials, keep the trials, the trials are great. I look forward to the six-month waiting period coming around and getting to try a plane again and see if I am still on the fence or if I want to buy it. I have the Mig-21 up for trial again and I'll fly it around for (another) two-weeks and see what's what.

 

There is no reason to end the free trials and every reason to keep them.

I’ve seen a few people buy modules after trying them out first so it’s doing it’s job there.

Never used a trial yet and own almost everything, only because I’d seen enough to know I’d want what I got. When and if I’m after something else I might give it a go and I like the fact it’s there for everyone. Seems to work well.

Free trials are great and we have no plans to stop them currently. 

We wont let the ones who do cheat the system ruin it for those who use it correctly.

Often as not I use the free trials to reaffirm a non-purchase. Lots of people love the Mirage 2000, for example, and maybe it is a great module, but it leaves me cold. But I try it out every six-months, and then notice that I only flew it for an hour out of the two-weeks, and that means I'm right in not buying it. So I use my dolleri-doos for a different module.

"They", huh? Perhaps. Childish cheapskates will always exist. They steal towels, shampoo and cocktail umbrellas from hotels for fun. Some people think that they are "smart" that way and it's their idea of fun. Let them be. The fact that these people think that they are smart and are "gaming the system" or "beating the man" should not trouble you or the way that you are having fun. If these exploits start hurting the kind people at ED, I'm sure that they will think about limiting their exposure. Currently I believe that ED view them as a slightly annoying byproduct of a useful feature, like flies attracted to your cook-out. Then again, I wouldn't know, as a) I don't work for ED and b) Steam doesn't have free trials and c) I really couldn't care less about some freeloader who sneaks a few hours of Hook of Phantom time. Once they grow up, they either find another hobby, or become serious customers.
