I almost posted the same thing today. No idea how to operate them. Also couldn’t find anything in the manual.

You can use at least the VHF frequencies of the ATC with the radio located in the central panel at pilot's left. Volume is quite low even at maximum level (I may be missing something, I only turn the radio's volume knob to the maximum right level)

I tried that, but the frequency range isn't great enough to goto 119.X.

Mmm I cannot confirm right now 119.X, but 118.X does work. I can perfectly talk with Bodo ATC at 118.300

EDIT: yep, it works. Screeshots showing Kemi Tornio at 119.400 clearing me to taxi. I have disabled easy communications, might that be your problem?

Hello folks,

I ran into some issue of my own but i pass trought another menu to do so, on the CDU, you have the CNI key, this is where we access / control most of our radio from what i've understand. We also need to select the "transmit" channel trought "control audio panel". I

Sadly it is either not possible at the moment or not explain in the guide how to change the frequency trought CDU. I tried scratchpad but i cant find any "enter" key on that shinny thing *slap the hood of the CDU*

A bit off topic but that CDU is central, it also controle ASE, TCN, NAV, etc...

I have searched the manual as well as YouTube, however, I can't find any instructions on how to use the radios in the CH-47F.  I have tried different settings on the Emergency/Auxiliary Control Panel, the Control Audio Panels, and checked the CDU functionality.  This thread really doesn't help either.  Nothing works.  Any ideas?

You change the frq via CDU, use CNI -> U2 -> Presets -> change frq (and ident. of the new radio, if you wish). Confrim your new select radio by pressing LSK 1-5 on the Presets page. New radio and frq shuld be displayed on the button of the MFD. Then rotate the "Transmit select knob" (Pilot audio panel) to position "2". Open comms menu and talk to tower. This works for me. I cant talk to ATC on the ground. Theres is a topic "Missing radio" on the forum with pictures 🙂 Hope it helps.

You can set presets for radios in the mission editor, I think (just the frequency, not the ident), and then just select your desired frequency via the CDU (I fly with the copilot CDU on the radios preset page).

I didn’t manage to get the presets for the ARC-186 (on center console) working (but maybe that’s my fault — manual tuning works fine).

Watching this video helped me a lot.  The TACAN and radio presets discussion is at the end, but the sling loading info is very helpful as well.
