Central Africa textures?

Hi everyone,

for those working on terrain textures, do you think it might be possible to produce Africa-like textures for existing maps (like Syria)?
The idea is to have a good recreation of the Central Africa area (Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, Angola etc.), especially in the 70s.
I don't have any skill for this, just wondering if it might be a doable project for those involved in terrain textures editing.
