sirrah Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 So, after having this on my wishlist for a very long time, I recently bought a 2nd hand RS FSSB R3 form a community member here. It is in every positive way what I expected! I managed to aerial refuel the Viper "with relative ease" on my first try . Awesome! Just a small "new owner" question. Perhaps it's because my muscle memory needs more training, but I hear the audio warning quite often (especially when making right hand rolls). How "bad" is this? I mean, do I risk any permanent damage if the audible warning goes off too often and should I try and prevent this at all costs? Or is it merely to let me know I reached the in-/output limit of the base and adding more force is pointless? 1 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
Swiso Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Hi, Not sure about that, but I would first check that the settings set in the RS HID Dev tool program are "realistic". By "realistic" I mean the Roll and Pitch Sensibility and then in the Warning Sound Level. Look here for some starting settings and then adapt to what suit you best. Have a look at the base manual attached. If still lost about this and in doubt, ask here: https://realsimulator.com/FSSB_R3_Forum/viewforum.php?f=13 FSSB-R3_User_Guide.pdf

Register here and then tell them that you bought second hand one of their bases, give them the serial #.

Scott-S6 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) It really depends how you have the base configured. If you're running max force with red warning at 100% then you don't want to be regularly exceeding it. If you're running 50% force then hitting the red isn't going to hurt it at all. If have mine configured with slightly reduced force, green at 95%, red at 100% - unless I hit red and keep pulling I'm going to be within envelope. Edited November 30, 2024 by Scott-S6 1 1
