Hi all,

I want to buy a NEXT LEVEL MOTION PLATFORM V3 and use it together with an Oculus Rift S VR Headset.

I want to use the motion platform with the following Flightsimulators: DCS World, XP12, MSFS2020 and IL2 Sturmovik.

Before I order this motion platform I want to know if the motion compensation (VrHeadway) software is working together with my Oculus Rift S. (Is it compatible or not?)

Best regards, Grippen7

Hi Brainfreeze,

I did already, but in the weekend they are closed and I want to order this during my holyday.

I Hope to receive a quicker answer via the forum and some advice from people who use this combination.

I searched already on the internet and Youtube, but could not find the answers I was looking for.

Best regards, Grippen7

Next level uses motionsystem hardware I believe and their software is compatible with oculus.  See there

https://qubicsystem.com/download/

or there

https://motionsystems.eu

Don't think the VR compensation care about the headset anyway, provided it can get the tracking info somewhere

Hi Brainfreeze,

Thanks for the links. 🙂

The unit that I want too buy is a Next Level Racing Platform v3 (NLR-M001v3),Black.

In a you tube review, I saw that was the same as the HS-203 unit.  (See timestamp 15:20 min.)

Supported VR headsets
  • Oculus Rift – Windows PC           Supported motion platforms HS-203
  • Oculus Rift S – Windows PC        Supported motion platforms HS-210

I  have an Oculus Rift S and acc. the website it works only with the HS-210. acc. the site.

The  QubicManager software from you other link, does that work with the  Next Level Racing Platform v3 (NLR-M001v3)?

Best regards, Grippen7 I  have an Oculus Rift S

AFAIK Next Level racing motion gear is from motion Systems which does the Qubic range. Motion Systems have their proprietary software to run their platforms and motion compensation.   Would make no sense to make 2 pieces of software as these are generic, only the motion profiles are specific to the rig.

These would be my assumptions but do get confirmation from NLR about it.

Hi Brainfreeze,

I received a mail from Motion System, but they send me back to Next Level Racing.

I still looking for a list with all compatible VR headsets, you can use with the VrHeadway motion compensating software and the next level NEXT LEVEL MOTION PLATFORM V3.

Best regards, Grippen7

Hi Brainfreeze,

Maybe I took the wrong conclusion and must I read the list like this.

In that case it would be compatible, but that is for the software itself but say nothing about the working of the motion compensation function of the software.

Honestly I do not see it not being compatible.  The motion compensation is agnostic about the rig and will work with both openvr and openxr headsets which Oculus is also compatible with so you should definitely be covered.

I’ve got one of these and it seems fine with my G1, although I always seem to have to turn off motion compensation for it to work.  It’s definitely doing something because with it on the view gets thrown all over the place.

So it's fine but you need to turn it off because otherwise it doesn't work??? 😳

You cannot use VR on a motion platform without motion compensation. Doesn't make sense

Yeah I know.  Don’t ask me why but that’s how it seems to work!  Had it for about 5 years now and use it for DCS, MSFS and iRacing and have never had a problem with it.
