Winger Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) Hi Folks, Based on the awesome Work of @TheAmazingGreat (thanks for your permission to use your Work AS a Base) I made some slight changes and am offering a VPForce MONSTER Rhino Kit sourcing service. The "Thing" kit has the following Specs: - Gimbal printed from laser sintered PA12. - Grip-Connector Lasersintered PA12. - Housing printed from 100% infill PETG on high quality Bambu printers. - XT60 Power connector. - Metal Ruthex threaded Inserts. - Heavy duty High Performance internal Power cables and high quality Brand emergency Stop Button. - Utilizes the highest power available VPForce Motor Kit (86BLF04) - needs to be ordered separately from VPForce. Due to the high price of the components and the Gimbal this Kit can only be made per Order on demand and against a small down payment. Time for getting a Kit ready is around 2-3 weeks (around as Long as it Takes for the Motor Kit to Ship to you from VPForce - AFAIK in stock) So in case you were thinking about something like this, want something little stronger or just want to hve some more headroom before cooling kicks in but do'nt have the time or do'nt want to have the hassle to source all screws/Cables/bits & pieces, then - PM me for price Info and Order. Here are some Images how the MONSTER looks when assembled and complete.' Force measured to pull to full back at the grip connector: 10,2 Kg. Force measured to pull to full back at the trigger of an attached warthog grip: 5,5 Kg. Amps pulled with this gear ratio 26. So there is stil some headroom with some more agressive gear ratio. The Images of the Kit are newest Iteration. Image of the built Base is earlier Iteration and Lacks small tweaks Like cosmetics rework of Fan openings and added stabilizers. Options: Original VPForce CNC machined Aluminium (black anodized) for an upcharge. PSU Cover for meanwell LRS PSU including XT60 cable and necessary screws Beltcovers. Both at slight upcharge. Another concern is the power cable, would I need a standard PC-type power cord or else, I am in the UK. Please PM price and S&H. Thank you. I Fly, Therefore I Am. friese01 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Hi all! I am using the Monster Rhino for 3 weeks now. Previous I was using a "regular" Rhino and prior to that a Virpil CM2 Base. I have to say: the Rhino is an absolute plus for immersion and the real feel of the aircraft. But the Monster Rhino really is kick-ass! The best base I have ever used so far. I can strongly recommend this to everybody who is into FFB. regards friese01
motoadve Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Did you updated modified your regular Rhino to the Monster Rhino? Have the Rhino and would like to upgrade.

Spatz Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I don't have the money right know but I'm interested can you send me a PM with the price please? Thanks
f14billy Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) I just finished building, setting up and testing the Monster Rhino Kit by Winger. I can honestly say it is exactly what I wanted. I own the original Rhino and I always wished it could sustain it's max torque longer. The monster Rhino can sustain the peak power of the original Rhino and more without overheating. The form factor is very similar to the original however the throw is a couple of degrees smaller so I had to use a 7.5 cm extension instead of the 5cm extension I was using to compensate. The total time from initial contact to the final product built and ready to use was a little less than a month with shipping to the USA. Here are a couple of pictures of the Monster Rhino side by side with the original one and my final setup. Thank you @Winger so much for your help. Your product is of the highest quality and totally worth the money. Edited October 12, 2024 by f14billy 1

Winger Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 the one kit that was in stock has sold. Now available to order with a production time of around 3 weeks.
agrasyuk Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I guess pricing is communicated in PM only? What is the Price? Will I need to get anything else to assemble a fully functional joystick? 1 Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
Aapje Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 You will need a VPForce motor kit, a power supply and a grip, as well. Last I saw is a price of €399 for the DIY kit, and that should roughly double to get the full base. But that is without the grip, for which there are a variety of different options (at different prices).
Winger Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) Apologies. Only now SAW the Posts. Yes GRIP and Motor Kit is needed. This preassembled Kit utilizes the big 86BLF04 VPForce Motors. Its 439,- plus shipping at VPForce Webshop For Standard VPForce rhino Kits See the rhino in a day Thread and contact @kaltokri Price via pm. One preassembled Monster Rhino ist ready to ship Edited December 7, 2024 by Winger 2
Bucic Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Am I right that there's no proper website for end-product specifications? I don't think it's a good idea to give specs... of a box. What are: maximum Peak torque maximum Continuous torque stick deflection range power draw at maximum continuous torque for the VPForce Motor Kit (86BLF04)? 1 F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
Winger Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Deflectionion is variable. Just Like the Standard rhino via custom limiters. Maximum force is slightly above the Standard rhino. And different to the Standard rhino the Monster has very high overheating treshold. The Gear Ratio of the Monster is very conservative. The philisophy of this Base is Not to offer RAW forces but rather the sophisticated effects of VPForce with more overheat treshold than the Standard rhino. And this IT does very well. The blf04 and 03 Motors are compatible. Recommendation goes to the 04s.

Variable deflection? Can I set it 60 degrees left / 60 degrees right? I don't thinks so. 1 F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
Winger Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 have a look here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/8addc17e2e80b65a283cbe11/w/f15586aa6951f77b58393a96/e/7795e6a8f7c49e69c519d9a7 If you leave out the limiters you have around 24° in all directions totaling to 48° X and 48° Y. There is also the possibility to program soft stops via the VPForce Software. The Questions about power draw can surely be answered on the official VPForce discord thou. 1
Winger Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 I have one prebuilt unit (without Motorkit) for Sale. I let that one Go at Cost cause i need m Investment Back. 500,- bucks plus shipping 1
Winger Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Sold. FYI: I get it the price i asked was heavy. I will now calculate a version that will feature PETG printed Gimbal 100% PA12 Lasersinter Gripconnetor PETG Housing 100% This way the base can be produced a lot cheaper. I will offer to make these only to order. Production time will be 2-3 Weeks. Ill update this thread with the price once i calculated it. 2
Winger Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 (edited) For anyone that might be interested in a Monster but was put off by the price I made a recalculation of a Version with diffrent materials used. I can do 550,- plus shipping for the Kit Except for the diffrent materials/printing process everything else will be the same. So: Gimbal PETG-CF 100% Infill FDM printed (instead of PA12 Lasersinter) Gripconnector PA12 Lasersinter (Instead of CNC Aluminium - you can upgrade that if you wanted yourself. Its an easy swapout but IMHO not necessary) Walls PETG 100% Infill FDM printed (Standard PETG instead of Prusament PETG) High Quality, heavy duty Schneider Electric Emergency Stop Ruthex Weld in Threads Optional Ugrade: Beltcovers 25,- It will be a kit that you need to assemble yourself (everything but the Gimbal wich i will preassemble and the weld in threads will also be done already) I can do the preassembly of the complete Base (except for motors) for you at an optional upcharge. Winger Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 Hey guys. If anyone is interested in a Monster Rhino kit - One will be ready to ship first week of February. The Gimbal can be chosen. Either premium PA12 Laser sinter or standard PETG-CF FDM printed. Both Versions feature PA12 Lasersintered Gripconnectors. PM for detailed info and prices/shipping quote.
Winger Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 FYI @everyone From now on my kits will come almost completely preassembled. The gimbal will already be "married" with the housing. All thats left to do is: 1. Mount Gripconnector (4 screws) 2. Take off bottom and front lid 3. Throw in motors and mainboard, connect all electronics 4. Strap on belts and aluminium pulleys 5. calibrate 6. Fly and be amazed by VPForce FFB magic! This way more or less frequent arising questions regarding build will not arise anymore. Even more convenience for the client! 1
