My copilot said put in 440mhz ADF and it had me fly West right to this random ship out in the ocean but nothing happened when I got there. What am I missing?

UPDATE: ok I saw another ship a few miles away (the ADF was NOT pointing to it though) so I flew over, and triggered a message about landing on a ship. Ding-ding! found it, or so i thought. I landed perfectly on the ship, however the ship kept moving forward and my helicopter did not so it slid right off the back of the platform and ripped my skis off! i was able to takeoff before complete disaster. wtf is going on

HI @dresoccer4,

I am sorry to hear you have some issues with Mission 1. Sadly the ADF is quite hard to find, because it overlaps with another ADF which was added to the map in some earlier updates and I have not seen before release.

But the ship you are looking for Almirante Lynch is still pretty easy to find. Like Oberst Schroeder said, just follow the coastline south and you will find it. The ship is a military vessel, no merchantman.

ah ok. yeah the ADF pointed me way out into the ocean where there happened to be both of these ships. i swear i had the correct ADF frequency in though. and when i approached the second ship the audio triggered and told me to land

Same here, 440khz ADF at least near mission start sends you out to sea to the west.

I found a tanker type ship out there and same as OP, could not land, just slid off the pad, but it wasn't a military ship anyway.

If the freq is changed, has the documentation been changed to reflect that? My kneeboard and iirc the voiceover as well still told 440 for the ADF, sending me to Cyprus..

Yeah I found it. Voice over told me to look for thick black smoke, but the ship had a small white plume 😉

Yeah I know, back in the days when we recorded the Voice Overs

the smoke was black, I swear. 🙈 The ship I used is part of the south atlantic assets and somehow during the last couple of months after release they changed the color of the smoke.

It seems that this is still unsolved? The briefing gives you the new frequency (iirr it was 380) but when setting the radio to this frequency, I didn't get a signal (no issues with the other ADF frequencies though).

Anyway, it wasn't a big issue since I found the ship without the ADF. Aside that, it was a nice first mission to get into the campaign.

Hey thank you for feedback, I will take a look again.

Yup,  I just flew it and ADF 380 doesn't work. I had a hard time finding the right ship. But a nice first mission! I'm hoping the rest are great too.

@mdtenor22001  I just tested it and can confirm that the ADF did not work. I'm not entirely sure why, but it seems the action to play the ADF sound no longer has a linked sound file (see screenshot below). As a result, the ADF script doesn't work. I've fixed and tested it. I’ll send an update to ED for a patch.
