Flim Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Hey guys, I'm working on a CNC'd cockpit solution for the black shark. I will sale kits, panels , and seats. My main goal is to keep the cost down and make if affordable to many. So to start , here the mip in SW. I will build off this and make the full pit. One of my goals is make this where it will fit into a normal size room. Space is a big issue when it comes to pit building. More to come...
BaD CrC Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Well, my office isn't big (about 9 sq meters) and I am having headache trying to find a place where my pit will fit. I think I'll have to move some furniture out of it. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I hear you guys on space concerns, my sim room doubles as a home theater so keeping it dual purpose has been work. Watching movies from the simpit vs. the sofa isnt the same! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
EtherealN Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Clearly you need to make yourself a more comfortable simpit, then. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
CyBerkut Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Oh yes... A reclining ejection seat that has a rising calf support, and perhaps retractable holders for a cup and a remote control !!! :D Seriously though, Flim I hope what you are doing pans out. I've been watching the various pit building threads with admiration (and not a small amount of envy), and having someone offering the key components, etc. (at a hopefully reasonable price) could certainly increase the chances of more of us building/having pits of our own. Carry on! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Flim Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Well, that is my goal ! I will do the hard part and provide the structures, seats kits, and panels( all professionally CNC'd). I'm also working on a full wiring solution. That leaves the fun stuff, painting, hooking up swictches, and flying! On a second note- i'm working on a force sensor stick for the 16 pits, but was thinking on making these work as a center stick for the A-10 and black shark. Would a center non-moving force sensor stick appeal to this crowd? The stick will be a shaft just like the real platform , but no movement except by pressure. That way you could just rest your arm on your knee as you fly and use pressure only. I love flying blackshark with the FSSB and this will be similar. As for the A-10 , it would be perfect and accurate. It will be cheaper then the FSSB and all you would need is a cougar grip. I would like to make different grips based on the aircraft your flying-- we will see , but it's possible. A moving stick would be alot more difficult and less accurate. So, give me some input! Thanks, Flim
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I'd love to have that MIP! But I'd probably wait for the A10 myself as I'm not out to build a replica but more of a pit that can fit the roles of many sims covering helos to jets to WWII Propjobs! Personally I like the having a regular non FSSB stick. But thats just me, easier for me to fly that way http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Flim Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) A10 is coming as well! Edited May 30, 2009 by Flim
