not sure if I'm the only one with this issue, but I'm finding it very hard to read a lot of the numbers on the PFD/MFD when sitting back at a normal position. i have to zoom in much closer to make out what everything is saying. this isn't an issue with analog/steam gauges. Anyone know of a way to increase the font size? I doubt it, but thought I'd ask. I know some of the other modules have mods to do this. maybe they'll be around one day

This is also a complaint many pilots IRL have with aircraft using digital displays.  Simulator is simulating correctly?

is this an issue you have as well in DCS?

ShuRugal,

Understand the sim is displaying correctly, no argument there. I was in on the initial induction of the CH-47  into the RAF....Oh so long ago, and it was like a swiss watch shop then in the front. But we could pass our eye tests then.

HOWEVER, I'm now 68, a pensioner, & I need glasses. The numbers are too small to read. I don't have VR, so I can't adust things. Selling my Mrs off is no longer an option to get the funds for VR PC.

Many times in H.M. Forces I was told, if you find a problem, and supply a plausible solution, 9 times out of 10....they will accept it.

So could I ask for a software option, to add the instrument information available in F2 view, where the data is displayed along the bottom of the screen to become an option in the main screen for us of the optically challenged fraternity.

Being an Option, It would be available to us who would fail the aircrew eye test, but who (happily) support the sim and no one else would notice

Thank you.

I agree with you 100% "flyingscotsman". I too, spent 35+ years in a cockpit (mostly the B757/767) and as the years (and miles) wore on, the FAA eye test became harder. Now, also 68, finds me in front of the PC, eyeglasses firmly in place, using my "zoom in/zoom out" HOTAS command constantly to read the Chinooks plethora of information (probably going to wear that hat switch out).

The idea of having an OPTION to display all that somewhere on the ol' monitor is an excellent idea.

One question.

Selling off the Mrs isn't an option? REALLY? Hmmmmm....that changes my gameplan significantly.

🤔

Hi BBall,

In my RAF time I bumped into an absolute 'Babe' took her out twice and then proposed. The silly girl said yes.... So for the next 20 years I was always getting, "Did she have a guide dog? Does she have a white stick, and of course "How come someone as ugly as you managed to get a girl like that!" I just got so used to it.  Oh and one of the best, "Did you get her from eastern bloc brides....."  You have to get  with the  military sense of humour of course

The numbers and text should be easy to read in any lighting condition. I use a monitor and have to constantly play with the zoom and FOV to get the information I need.

Although I have not flown the CH-47F, I have a lot of experience flying various glass cockpit helicopters IRL, and in all of them you can easily read the displayed information at a glance.

I am not sure if this is a module issue or if it is due to my own sim configuration, graphics set up .....

In any case, what I am getting at the moment is not satisfactory and I hope a solution can be found.
