sandpatch Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Stupid question, but when I use the AKAN and press radar A1 and T1 to lock the target. If I then turn off the radar I still get range updates. Does it have another way to range to target?
TOViper Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) Yes, radar ranging can be turned on and off with TAKT IN at adress 25. No need to press T1; target lock (IF radar ranging is used) is done by trigger UNSAFE. The radar will then "lock" the position with the strongest radar return (or the landscape I guess when no objects are there). Furthermore, if a M point is selected currently in the destination indicator, a target fix of that waypoint will be made at exactly the location where you are aiming. null Edited October 18, 2024 by TOViper Updated picture. sandpatch Posted October 18, 2024 Author Posted October 18, 2024 @TOViper Thanks, but not quite what I asked. I am using the AKAN pod, but after getting range info on the enemy, I turn off the radar. After that the range still updates. If the radar is off, I shouldn't have range info.

I guess you are specifically talking about Air to Air engagement, right?

TOViper Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) Oh, thats a whole other story After turning off the radar (or not), I leave the target, and then I press T0 and then everything reverts back to the standard wingspan mode. But you are right, the ranging is done with having the radar at A0. @MYSE1234: Is there some internal logic that keeps the ranging active while the radar was set to A0?
