MadKreator Posted March 20 Posted March 20 @Cyking I’m having the same issue with mission 5 as of yesterday (3-19-25) . Landing on the containers still causes a “collision” no matter how softly i can touch down. Bits go flying in the air and the heli just starts sliding off the containers by itself. One time it triggered the event to load the passengers, even though I touched down , then hovered over the containers… it loaded all but the last one. I hovered for several minutes but never got the cue that the final passenger was onboard. Tried several more attempts , both touching down first, or just hovering in various spots and could never get the trigger to fire again. Not so sure there is a campaign issue as much as an ED issue with the heli coming in contact with the containers/ objects. If I remember right several months ago people were having the same issue landing on some FOB helipads. ( I can only imagine the chore it must be to constantly deal with changes ED makes ( or breaks) behind the scenes. - Like others, my only real complaint( which isn’t bad since I can also read), is that the voice overs are kind of hard to hear. Maybe they’re a bit quiet, or too much static effect.. but not a deal breaker. It kind of gives the feeling of an old radio from the 60’s/ 70’s. - All in all, I’m having fun in the campaign. Try touching down with the front of the skids first, at least don't let the back of the skids touch any "edge" . The containers might be at fault too. @Flappie Remember this from last fall? Don't remember if I ever saw and update. Cheers!

Great work! Hey @MadKreator, thank you for your feedback and happy you enjoy it. Ah yes my lovely containers. I still having a struggle with that, I already created an alternative Version of the Mission on my end using a different kind of ship ,the Atlantic Conveyor, with kind of a helipad. But it feels to easy to land there. I want to have it more kind of a challange. I think I still need to refine the hover triggers. New VO's are already in the work, but currently my main focus is on polishing a new project. After that the Peacekeeper Lebanon Campaign gets some more attention again. But I think the later Missions already have better VO's in my Opinion, especially in the first 4 ones I used a different modulation and recording. But ... it works. MadKreator Posted March 20 Posted March 20 (edited) @Cyking Great to hear of future improvements. I agree, a different ship with heli-pad would be a bit easy. Nothing wrong with the containers, especially if it’s a Huey/ED issue itself. Maybe a little inconvenient atm, but I’m not going to cry over it Still loving your work and it’s greatly appreciated! @MAXsenna funny, funny guy!! Land with the front of the skids first What kind of pro do you think I am Although I feel like with the Moza and FFB I’m getting much better… Which btw ( not to sidetrack the thread too much, updating our previous convo), I’m really loving the Moza now, very glad I didn’t return it. I can say now that I would in fact recommend it…or rather, knowing what I know now, I would purchase it again. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to non-ffb. Although winwing has beaten their price by $130 now and with more force( if really needed), albeit a bit bulky/ cumbersome looking unit. The software will be the tell tale. Mozas last update is much better but still some things to work out with accurate centering. Ragnock Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) @Cyking I liked the four first missions of this campaign, but this mission breaks it. I try it every few months and hope that you fixed it. I like to 100% my campaigns. Whatever I try, the heli skids of the container and gets damaged. Often it does not count as a crash and i can't crash it because it clips into the container and I have to repeat the mission from the beginning. This is more than frustrating. I also tried to hover instead of landing, but the countdown gets interrupted even if i hover very close to the container. I think you got enough feedback that proves that this mission does not work for many players. For a player it does not matter what the reason is (dcs bug, ...) and if it works for you. Working as a professional software developer for more than 20 years, I can tell you that not beeing ignorant about customer feedback is the most important thing you can do. Can you please fix the mission? I think it's acceptable if the mission gets a bit easier. The combination of rain (without having working wipers), wind, smoke, fire and possible explosion is hard enough, even if the landing space is a bit bigger and not bugged. Would a real pilot land on a unstable container in this conditions? Thanks! Edited July 6 by Ragnock
Cyking Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Hey @Ragnock First of all, thanks for your honest and detailed feedback – and with your very first forum post, no less! That shows how important the topic is to you, and I really appreciate that. After reading your post, I jumped into DCS and flew the mission again. I was able to complete it successfully by landing on the container, and from my perspective, the mission is working as intended. BUT – I completely agree that this mission is a tough one. And the janky damage model of the container can definitely cause issues if your landing is too fast or imprecise. That’s exactly why I added the hover option as an alternative way to complete the task and reduce frustration. If that option isn’t working properly anymore, I’ll definitely look into it again. About the hover part – could you clarify what you mean by “the countdown gets interrupted”? For future reports, it would be really helpful if you could share a .trk file or a screenshot of the message log. That makes it easier for me to understand exactly what's happening on your end. That said, I’ll check the trigger logic again right after this. A few words about the intention behind the mission: From the very beginning, this mission was designed to annoy you. It's that mission, the one everyone hates. It's meant to be hard, maybe even a little frustrating, and yes, maybe I’m channeling a bit of a sadistic streak here . But the idea is that finally beating it makes the success all the more satisfying. I’ve tried using other ships, but the moment I switch to something with a helipad, the mission completely loses its original character and purpose. For me, it’s a very fine line between making everyone happy and staying true to my vision for the mission. Here’s what I’ll do going forward: I’ll recheck the hover alternative to make sure the trigger is still working properly. I’ll also add an F10 radio option at the start of the mission that lets players switch to an “easy mode” – replacing the container ship with the SS Atlantic Conveyor, which has a proper helipad. That way, there’s a fair option for those who want the challenge and for those who simply want to complete the mission and move on. DISCORD - YOUTUBE - INSTAGRAM

I think the option with another ship would be a good solution. About the trigger: I think I had the same problem as MadKreator describes obove. I never got the voice cue that the final passenger was onboard.
