Seems thats its broke right now.

This campaign doesnt seem to be working anymore. I restarted the campaign, and I hear none of the audio voices speeking, just the on screen text.

Also the other planes never start moving. They just sit there and never roll. I get stopped at the runway saying dont take off until the rest of the wing takes off, which never happens.

Radios are still working fine, might be a distance/signal strength/LOS issue that could be related to the second issue.  The second issue has been caused by the Syria map update, no AI will takeoff from H4 currently.  Good news is it's fixed internally already, you should see an update/hot fix applying the fix soon.

I came here because because I googled why by aircraft was not taken off prior to me.Requesting takeoff, and here it is, so it's a known bug for weasel's over syria now?

Yes that's right, already fixed internally, just waiting for a hot fix.

When I started DCS 1 hour ago there was an update waiting for the campaign. I updated it. Start mission 4, there is a tanker on the runway. Tower tells me wait until clear runway. Inwait and nothing happens..

was this the mentioned hotfix or is there another one coming?

No it wasn't in this one unfortunately, ED haven't had the updated files very long so I think it came too soon for for this hot fix.

Can't imagine how frustrating this must be for campaign DLC makers (reading the forum, it seems like Baltic Dragon's Gamblers campaign got hit even worse by the changes Ugra suddenly implemented to its Syria map).

I just hope all campaign creators can find a way to solve the issues without too much rework.

I'm sure Ugra wasn't aware up front, on the impact of their extended and beautiful Syria update, otherwise they would've surely informed ED and its campaign creators.

Fix was very simple, only took about 2 hours to fix the whole campaign.  Frustrating bit is having to wait to get it to you.

It is ED's responsibility to test the map for compatibility before releasing it to the public. After all, none of us are buying any product from Ugra directly and/or any 3rd party developer. I don't understand why everyone is blaming Ugra. They have all the right to evolve their map as they see fit and within the engine's capabilities.

Sorry to say, but ED have seriously dropped the ball here, and now we are forced to wait "two weeks" as usual.. smh

Just for the record here: nowhere in my post am I "blaming" Ugra 🙂

Third parties are responsible for the testing of their products, we don't expect ED to test things for us.  With the amount of modules, terrains and campaigns in DCS now, it's not practical to expect ED to be able to test every single combination themselves in my opinion.

And I completely agree that Ugra can and should keep updating their product, I think the updates to the Syria map have been incredible.  We just hope that in future they don't change existing features, but only add new ones, taking into account the impact on products already on sale.  H4 airbase has literally moved a few feet on the last update, stuff like that creates huge problems for all mission builders out there.

I mostly agree with all you said. But obviously, there is a communication gap which ED, as main developers of DCS need to bridge. As a campaign developer, your main task is to focus on your own product. Same goes for Ugra as we both agree.

My point is simple. If ED receives new update logs, while agreeing it's not their responsibility to test 3rd party products, such as campaigns, the least they can do is communicate these changes with you guys [3PD].

Surely yourself or any 3PD would love to get a heads-up of the upcoming changes to further enhance or update your products.

The current comm gap does not only impact us users. It hurts all segments across the board and ED the most. Customer trust and confidence along with brand loyalty are huge drivers towards that negative impact.

Measure the community's reaction towards the upcoming release of the Iraq map. Folks are slowly losing faith and trust in ED fulfilling their promises in producing a full product in a timely manner without hopping over to the next project and leaving the latter incomplete.

A good work moto to follow is @Polychop Simulations with their release of the OH-58D Kiowa. True it took them much longer than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. But when released, it was a complete module ands almost bullet proof. Plus, it was not associated with any of that "Pre-Order" non-sense for a price which will eventually be listed during a sale season sometime down the line.

In the end, "we" (being ED, 3PD, and users) are all after the same objective. We all aim to have a feasible and an enjoyable platform that provides good immersion levels, a good range of airframes, maps, and scenarios for both enthusiasts and IRL pilots to enjoy. However, the objective cannot be achieved single handedly and definitely not with the "my way or the highway attitude"..

Just my honest 2 cents along with some venting in parallel..

Wasn't referring to your directly as blaming Ugra. No offense if that's how you received my message. I was simply reiterating the ongoing vibe and impact on Reflected and Baltic Dragon's campaigns following Ugra update of their Syria map.
