Jyge Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I saw that Virpil has Black Friday discount. I fly quite a bit of helis, so I would be interested to know, if there is a way to move virtually the axis center preferably with shortcut keys. I am looking for rudder pedals and it would be nice take the load off from rudder axis, if the centering spring is too powerful.
speed-of-heat Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 you mean in game without re-calibration? not that i am aware of but doesn't the trim function do that in DCS ? SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
Jyge Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 If there is a rudder trim available on a particular aircraft. If you take gazelle for example, it does not trim the tail rotor and depending on speed or situation you need constant rudder input. This is a little bit irritating as with the PC pedals, if you have strong centering spring you need to use constant force. In a real aircraft/helicopter you might also need an input but it might be that the aerodynamic forces or control forces are actually close to zero in that deflected position as you are actually in an equilibrium.
miguelaco Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) If you order Virpil Ace Pedals with the damper upgrade, I think you can remove the spring and it shouldn't return to center, which I believe is what you're asking for. Edited November 20, 2024 by miguelaco 1
Jyge Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 Yes, that is probably the best solution!
Nightdare Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I believe you can in the virpil software: Select Z Axis (Doubleclick) Next screen change "Output %"" on center value (I put in 30%): The thin line will be your new center once you save and write to rom As evidenced here in VPC Joystick tester Intel I5 13600k / AsRock Z790 Steel Legend / MSI 4080s 16G Gaming X Slim / Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 64Gb / Adata 960 Max / HP Reverb G2 v2 Rhino FFB / Virpil MT50 Mongoost T50 Throttle, T50cm Grip, VFX Grip, ACE Rudder / WinWing Orion2 Navy, UFC&HUD, PTO2, 2x MFD1, PFP7 / Logitech Flight Panel / VKB SEM V / 2x DIY Bodnar Button Panels
