HotTom Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) Maybe I'm overthinking this....I had to reinstall DCS and it gave me both a DCS World and DCS World Open Beta. I thought Open Beta had been eliminated and the sole remaining game folder was DCS World. Where do I install Mods, Skins etc. ? Also (related, I think): Since reinstalling, I can't find a bin file in either World or World Open Beta. Where is it? Hard to do a Repair without the bin. Indeed there is no difference in the versions. BETA and Single Thread have been deprecated. Most clean mods and customizations go in DCS folder in saved games. Repair will not replace these files. Main program folders with non default files will be removed during a repair. Last question you had "no bin"? You mean the folder in the DCS folder? HotTom Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 My bin is inside my World folder which now is inside my Open Beta folder. Problem is: the bin folder is there but it's empty. Is it supposed to be this way? Exceptional engineering...and a large hammer to make it fit!

He installed DCS World in an old leftover OpenBeta folder. That can happen if there were traces of OpenBeta in the registry, and he didn't pay attention, as the install shield does funny things from time to time. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
HotTom Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Did a second download and install and all the bin stuff reappeared. Thanks, Max!!! 1 Exceptional engineering...and a large hammer to make it fit!
