A.S Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 ...very nice Flightcharacteristics.....(me thinks comparing with IL2 Spits) http://www.realairsimulations.com [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
theGozr Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Yes great plane.. too sad that those cockpit were not made for 6DOF ... ( rear view 3D problems ) Real Air work real hard to get a good FM but alas it still affected by the FSX's lack of extreme maneuvers correctness .. If you don't have it get it it's one of the best Addon for FSX Fly it like you stole it..
A.S Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) erm ...that is FS9 there ^ :smilewink: Yes, coding and defining flight-DYNAMICS (as the word Dynamic already says) is a very complex issue. Many environmental variables have to be considered in order to "trap a fluid flow" in mathematical forumulas, and knowing that this requires a wast amount of calculations and/or CPU-power, many flightmodel-coders develope "smart" workarounds in order to make things "appear" as they would be somewhat realistic. Taking different sims under the scope and performing different flight maneuvers, or forcing certain flight specifig situations, it becomes very quick visible, where those "smart workarounds" reach their limits and become hollow. And are even easier to detect if you are deeper interested in this topic. Some Sims use nice effects and gfx- or sound-assisting "pushups" in order to raise this impression or immersion ...other sims (like AF for example) really abandon those "fake" scripts and mesmerize the the flight characteristics in very accurate real word perfomance graphs and datas. Feels like flying on rails, but performs mathematical and in terms of pyhsics "more accurate". The coders task is always to find the balance between accuracy, immersion and efficient coding....etc etc.... But this Spitfire from Realair really impressed me......very nice done. I think the FM for AF is quite good considering how old the sim is and that they added a more realistic FM in one of the patches plus the ground handling is quite good. If you're looking for realistic FM performance then perhaps you should be looking at Xplane as I've heard xplane uses a unique method for calculating the FM etc. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
A.S Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 ..im not looking FOR anything special ....but i´m L:huh:King .... :D (im aware of X-plane.....) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
theGozr Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I wish the dev could take example of Condor.. and maybe Rise of FLight..... regarding FM... :) Fly it like you stole it..
A.S Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Just for the beauty ..few more... (all shot in FS2004) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

kaiserb_uk Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Am I right in thinking that's a twin prop Spit? Cos it's not like that was ever a production model, it's a freak that the restorers came up with (found a spare Shackleton engine lying around and somehow shoe-horned it into the cowling). It looks nice an all, but a MkII or Mk Vb would be better IMO.
joey45 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 cue 633 sqn music. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. You have the Mk XIV Supermarine as: Clipped Wing: RM653 RM908 SM832 Contra-Prop Prototype (Twin-blade) Elliptical Wing: RB159 RM619 RM787 RN135 Race74 (Twin-blade) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
