Downloadable manual in PDF Format - Updated to the version that is being sold?

I always read the threads that concern Black Shark with some interest as beside it being a fantastic and challenging simulator, which has already seen me spending less and less time, engaged with LOMAC FC, many of the questions and observations, help to clear up confusion and assist in the learning curve.

I have read with interest the information regarding the printed manual, containing updated information, but still find myself wondering if the downloadable PDF version from the DCs Black Shark site, has been updated to the same standard and superceeding that which is installed as part of the process, when installing from DVD versions?

I obviously want to be using the latest information in learning to fly and fight this deadly eggbeater. So hopefully DCS will keep us informed as to updated versions as I want to print my own manual, rather than buying one.

Thanks mate,

That really is a little naughty and you might think sharp trading, as it seems like the intention is to force customers to buy a manual, beside the one that is supplied. I think that things like this can harm the excellent reputation that a company has, which can damage future custom.

This is the kind of thing that the pirate community loves to see as justification for scanning manuals and then putting them on the web, for all to download, with the result that companies lose profits.

I rreally cannot see how it is justifiable to gather feedback from a loyal user base, then charge for just updating a manual to offer pilots the opportunity, to get maximum enjoyment out of their product.

It makes it look like all they want to do is relieve you of as much money as possible.

It is not just updated manual, it is manual with added content. I think the updated version (with fixed mistakes and typos, but without that additional content) will be included with upcoming patch.

Force? Nobody is forcing you to do anything, all the relevant information to fly the Shark has been provided with standard manual. The Extended Print manual is not necessary to fly, there is no secret information in it. It is a Special Edition for those who wish to pay for something unique.

Everything I saw about it looks like the additional content really adds to the experience by focusing more on the practicalities of flying and fighting the black shark and not just the full capabilities (i.e. it can really help a newby find the information they need to get started). I would actually prefer a downloadable pdf that I would be willing to pay a small fee for.

I really don't think ED are doing this manual for the money. I'd be suprised if they made more than a few dollars off of each copy.

For me addictional history, checklist ect is not worth paying so I stayed with "normal" manual full color for 18 Euro.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Considering the very thorough checking of whether enough people would care to purchase it, I concur with this.

This is not "sharp trading" or something like that. It's an extremely high risk-low return venture that they were nigh-unto begged into doing as a service to the community.
