Great campaign - quick question - does automatic startup break the mission?

Great campaign, but don't really want to be manually starting up the f16 each time

 

on mission 2 for example, if i use automatic startup, i don't see any ability to progress the mission

 

does this break the mission ?

no it doesn’t break it. But you need to skip the crew chief start then wait until the checkin time and be on the correct frequencies

You can use autostart, I prefer always for campaigns and missions Cold and Dark start for example, it improves the immersion a lot.
