ATGM -vs- modern armour

Hi everyone, my first post here.

 

I'm back to this genre after a very, very long break (since I finished playing LongBow2 many years ago). So many things have changed and I have so many questions to ask.

 

Anyway, my first question is about anti-tank guided missiles versus the armour of modern tanks. I've read about tanks having chobham armour and its effectiveness. How do modern atgms overcome this armour, is it just a case of a bigger warhead or is there something I'm missing?

 

I've looked at the internet in a few places, but can't find anything that satisfies my curiousity.
