Dusk Mission Help???

Ive been flying the Dusk mission several times and cant seem to get past it. Everytime either myself or my wingman gets blown out of the sky. The last time I tried my wingman got hit and left. All major air defenses were taken out and about half of the primary target (tanks and trucks) before I ran out of ammo. Wingman flew off to who knows where and I returned to base for rearm and refuel but when I got back I had to use night vision gogles and I cant seem to see anything on my abris at night much less target and fire. Needless to say I got killed again. Has anyone completed this mission on one run? I run out of ammo after I take out air defense and half way thru primary target. (approximately 10 tanks) Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I hate having to refly the previous mission over and over again since its a 1 hour flight.

This mission annoyed me sooo much, I changed it so you start in the air, just above the dam. I also chose unlimited weapons - just for this mission. It's the only way to complete it without your suicidal wingy.

Yes i manage to complete it. When the air defences was taken out by the planes I save one armourer target to my data link and i sent it to my wingman. Then i order him to attack data ling target group and i started assisting him with armourer targets after we clear them all i close up with canon and rockets and finish the rest.

 

If i remember correctly i save that track if you want i can sent it to you.

I finished it in the same way Connos did. Making good use of your wingman is the key, as you don't have the ammo to destroy all the targets yourself. I think from memory that some of the buildings have to be taken out for completion. Also, NVG are handy for the trip home :thumbup:

I'm having a similar problem running BS under Vista 32 after adding Patch 1.01. The lockups seem to occur while there is a heavy graphics load (smoke images) and voice traffic. Just a guess, but that indicates a data overload.

I've found that running a registry cleaner, like Ccleaner, helps a lot to prevent these lock ups.

The Dusk mission is similar to many of the Oil Field Wars missions in graphics load. And just to be fair, BS does pop a warning about being able to run Oil Field Wars missions on less than Cray capacity machines.

The secrect is to create light by destroying buildings near to targets. This enables the laser targeting system to work better allowing you to send\receive more data between you and your wingman. If someone can tell me how to stop the wingman from flying too close to targets i'd much appreciate it.
