w.i.p CH-47F broken damage model

Currently the Chinook can absorb unrealistic amounts of damage.
Because of this bug the Chinook is now being banned from MP servers for balance reasons.

I have created a simple mission to demonstrate the problem.
My Chinook is hit with multiple RPGs and yet I'm still able to take-off and land.

We all know what early access is about, however this should be no excuses for such a poor damage model.
I bought the CH-47F to fly logistics on my favourite MP server. Sadly I'm now banned from flying the Chinook.

I would really appreciate that ED would make this issue a top priority to fix and not say it will be improve later in early access.

I agree with this. I only came back to DCS because of the chinook. To have this model banned from MP servers is really disappointing.

I’d rather this was fixed first before anything else.

I hope it’s a quick fix…feel like I’ve been grounded….just sulked in my bed this morning . Wanted to fly the chinook for years.

Would love a time frame for the fix but appreciate that may not be possible.

Hi, the CH-47F is work in progress, during early access we will see the damage model improved.

It is not just a server ban issue though. Often anything related to multiplayer is ignored or low priority for ED it seems.. but in this case it also affects single player. 
 

Currently I have to judge myself when to restart a mission. For example I didn’t see a certain enemy convoy and got hit by 3 TOW missiles.. do I just continue like nothing happened? Where is the immersion and fun in that. 
But quite often you don’t know what hit you, so it is hard to judge if you should be dead and restart or if it was just a few 7.62 rounds.

Damage model is not mentioned on the roadmap but it should be a top 3 priority, well above MFD subpages etc

You should really mention it on the roadmap to avoid this question repeatedly. And some kind of priority indication would be welcome too.

Does anybody know if this has changed? Been on another server a couple of nights ago and got blown up with 1 missile?

Until further notice, the DCS: CH-47F damage model will continue to be work in progress (wip).

If any changes or improvements are performed, it will be listed in the changelogs of each update.

I hope the Ch-47 is given the same amount of survivability as the Mi-24 and Mi-8. One Hellfire missile can take out any tank on the battlefield, but a Russian helicopter needs 2 or 3 to bring them down. I've collided with a Mi-8 in a harrier and exploded, but the Mi-8 flew away unscratched.

That is far gone. I think you should try to fly MI 24 and MI 8 online. And see how far you go. 
But I do agree Chinook need a more complex dm. MI 8 is my favorite because of its dm. You can nurse it home or at least get it away from harms way when hit and emergency land
