Ladan Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Hi everyone, I've been having problems with Caucasus. When flying through here with ILS, the vertical bar responds either late ( 1-2 miles away from carrier) or not at all. I've been having this issue a long time. Is there a fix happening soon?
razo+r Posted January 28 Posted January 28 (edited) Where's the track? What aircraft? You mention carrier and Caucasus. Do you see the same behaviour on other maps? What about airfields on Caucasus? What's the wind setting? Are you intercepting the Glideslope at the correct distance/altitude ratio? Upload a track. So many questions... Edited January 28 by razo+r

I don't have a track. I'll try to take a screenshot of it instead, if that helps. Airfields are fine, as I don't use ILS there. I just use TACAN. Aircraft is F/A-18 Hornet. No winds, just rain. Pretty sure I am intercepting correctly. Last night was better, so probably it's me. Will check it again tonight. Nope, not the same behavior in PG or Cypress. Georgia is the only one that seems buggy, cause my HUD display is also not centered when I'm there, but other maps are fine.

HUD being offset is usually because of wind, unless you mean tilting due to INS drifting, be it due to no GPS available or the NAV switch being in NAV instead of IFA. But yep, we'll only be able to tell for certain if we get a short track. Edited January 29 by razo+r

So even if I had no winds set, it would still be offset? Not sure about INS drifting... . I've been told that the offset is cause of the map. This doesn't happen in other maps. I'll look at everything again. Maybe the bar is due to my intercepting incorrectly.

If there are no winds, the HUD shouldnt be offset. There is also no reason why the offset is caused by the map, unless you have a corrupted install or are doing something wrong. If there was truly a bug, more people would complain/report it. Make sure you remove all of your mods and run a full repair, and then try to reproduce it and save the track. Thats the easiest way to see what it could be.

Otherwise, I don't have mods. How do I run a repair?

Mods like for example the A-4E, Grinellis F-22 etc. 2 hours ago, Ladan said: How do I run a repair? I will try doing that before starting my mission. I guess it will let me know if there's problems?
MAXsenna Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Ok, thanks. I will try doing that before starting my mission. I guess it will let me know if there's problems? It should tell you if it wants to remove non-DCS files, (mods), not if there are corrupted files.Didn't see if Razor mentioned this. When exiting a mission, there is button called "Save track". Do that. Give the track file a relevant name, and just drag and drop it here.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

MAXsenna Posted February 1 Posted February 1 How would it help my problem? It's still happening by the way (vertical line not centering in time when approaching carrier).Hi! The devs can watch the track and see exactly what you are doing. They can also use the track in their a debug tool, and see exactly what is going on behind the scenes in the SIM engine, so to speak . If it is a bug, they can acknowledge that and hopefully fix it. If it's a user error, believe it or not, it happens. They can give advice and correct the user. And again, believe it or not, of all reported bugs, probably 50% or more, are user error. The track can also be viewed by users to either check the procedures or reproduce the bug which can help the devs to acknowledge a bug more quickly. Cheers! EDIT: I just noticed, you should probably have posted this in the F/A-18C bug section, and it probably would've received more traction. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
