can not reproduce HSEL not working

I’m having an issue with my jet’s HSEL not working.  I flew with a squadron mate tonight and his worked as expected.

Here’s what I do

• used the HDG switch to a heading of my choosing(or enter the heading via the UFC)
• turned my jet in the general direction of the heading I wanted (though not the actual heading)
• selected A/P on the UFC
• Colonized HSEL on the UFC

Nothing.  The jet drifts left or right but never locks in on the heading I wanted.  In the cockpit, HSEL on the UFC is colonized and HSEL shows up on the left DDI as a caution.

Does anyone have an idea want I am doing wrong?

What's your bank angle when you hit HSEL?

I wanted to verify this was the correct track file but I get "Mission Load Fail" message (see attached).  That's another issue I have, but I digress.

Hey having the same issue here - track attached

• Use UFC to enter a HDG
• Engage BALT, then HSEL
• HSEL doesn't capture - selection colon appears on HSEL, but no appreciable flight control change
• Move HDG around, turn HSEL on/off --> plane now rolls to start banking in the direction of selected HDG but never unbanks / holds heading
• Tried changing the HDG with HSEL on, and it doesn't react to it (i.e. in typical behavior if you move the selected HDG, the plane will bank to now follow the new heading, including reversing direction of bank as needed, here it doesn't do any of that)

Hi, 

thank you for the track. 

We can see the issue in the track replay, but as soon as we take control or use a fresh mission all is ok for us. 

Are you using any unofficial mods or edits? If possible please include the dcs log from the session so we can look for more clues.

Thanks for reviewing.  I didn't save the log from the first track, so including a new track and log combo.  

Mods are all official ones via steam, just aircraft, campaigns, terrains. 

Custom edits: 

• SimAppPro (winwing's) -- uses a custom MonitorSetup (wwtMonitor.lua --> attached) as I use their F/A-18 setup with 3 mini screens, their UFC and their PTO panels + HOTAS
• gamemessages.lua - lines 52-54 edited, line 117-119 edited
• CommandDialogsPanel.lua - line 181 edited
• options.lua - included

I haven't had time to go in and remove all my mods yet.  When I do, I'll upload the track file.

Removed all modules and have the same issue.
But I'm starting to wonder if this has something to do with being in a motion-rig and having an extention on the joystick. Naturally when banking the stick will also tilt and even though I have reinforced springs on the joystick base there is a sideways pull by gravity. Funny though that I have not had any issues because of this when using CSEL followig waypoints, TACAN etc.
Is the sensitivity for HSEL different from CSEL?
