av8orDave Posted February 2 Posted February 2 For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get the MMS to point at a waypoint. Is anyone willing to explain the procedure step-by-step? Here is roughly what I am doing: LMC on MMS pulled up on MFD MMS mode switch to PPT laser armed press PPT button on MFD enter waypoint number and hit “enter” press mms manual button twice to get to PPT mode After doing this, the MMS seems to be point forward and slight down into the ground, and not remotely at the waypoint. What am I missing?

What am I missing? Hard to guess what you are doing wrong from your description. You need to be enter full point name not just number. 1W 1C 1T If there are there are already points in the prepoint list you need to press the bezel until you get to the end and get a flashing cursor Edited February 2 by =475FG= Dawger

The route tool in MP is set default at 2K alt. for example, which will have the MMS pointing in the right direction but up in the sky... Edited February 2 by JohnMclane

I went into the mission editor, and set the waypoint elevation to 0 agl. Tried again, and it still seems to point down at the ground shortly in front of the helicopter. Im hoping to have some time to play around with it this afternoon. Maybe I can suss out what I’m doing wrong, otherwise I’ll try to maybe post a video. 1

Have a look at my test mission track - Caucasus with ground targets at waypoints 3, 4, 5 set at ground level (98ft) in the ME. Hope it helps. Vital061270 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 When you enter coordinates in the Nav Setup menu, the elevation of the point (1T, 1W, 1C) is entered automatically, above sea level. You must confirm the altitude (OK) and store it (Store). In PRPT, or SEARCH mode, the MMS pointer points strictly to the target (point) on the ground. ZAR_Magadan
Vital061270 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Abbreviation 1T - target point 1W - waypoint 1C - control point Select a point on the map F10; press LAlt: point on the map Mouse Left Button (you will get a window with full information on this point) and return to the cabin F1. Select GMRS coordinates from the table and enter in the NAV SETUP - NEW (WP/TG/CP) menu. Edited February 12 by Vital061270 ZAR_Magadan
Vital061270 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 You cannot set a point in a GPS system on land with an elevation of 0. This is sea level. Visually, the point will be underground (under a mountain, under a forest, or under a city) ZAR_Magadan
Sarge55 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Doesn’t it auto correct to the correct elevation based on TED when entered? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
Nealius Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I've only been able to get it to work on the first waypoint. After selecting my next waypoint the MMS keeps snapping back to the first waypoint.
Vital061270 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Fill the table with the required points; switch to the PREPT mode; use the R2 button to select the required one and cyclically switch modes (I button). ZAR_Magadan

Nealius Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I am but it stays on the first waypoint after I select the next one.
