Not ED's fault. Complain to Steam.

And Steam accepts returns. So if you have the main site install and a Steam install, you get the free trials and the conveniences of Steam. I have no complaints.

I've bought and retuned four modules, I think, and re-purchased all but one of them. That's a nice convenience to have. I don't misuse it as a substitute free trial, but I like that I can buy something just released that I want, and if I have an instant "Bleah!" reaction, I can return it.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

And each of them has a unique flight model, just starting to get used to one, it's hard to transfer to another. Only the Mi-8 and Mi-24 are somewhat similar, but even there there are significant differences. I want to practice on something specific. I was lucky to get a discount on Hind when I tested it. But not everyone is so lucky.

And don't forget about Steam users.

Steam users can install the standalone and use the trials as well if they like. But at the end of the day trials are not to really learn a module. It's just a brief look to see if it's something you would like to buy and learn and enjoy.
