Predator-78 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I would like your advice... I installed Windows 11 Pro 64 bit and immediately noticed that the operating system does not work properly. Previously I had installed a version of Windows 10 then updated to 11 and I never encountered any anomalies. Even the DCS simulator does not respond well, I have much longer loading times, and when I click on a menu item I notice delays in the response. On some occasions DCS has also crashed. My PC has latest generation components so I do not think they are compatibility problems. Have any of you had the same experience as me? How did you eventually solve it? Thanks CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz - DDR4 64,0 GB - MSI RTX3080ti - Win 11 64bit
unlikely_spider Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I am having generally good results on Win 11. Did you do a clean install or an upgrade? I always suggest the former. Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1
SharpeXB Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I just did a clean re-install of W11. No trouble with DCS. Make sure all your drivers get reinstalled properly. I’m no expert at this but my MB utility (Asus Armory Crate) does this nicely. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Wing Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I actually just had to completely wipe Windows 11, and do a fresh install. Windows 11 has given me some troubles too, especially the latest updates. Something happened in the latest Windows update in how the OS interacts with your SSD. Which is now causing BSOD and Windows files to corrupt... The only way to solve this, is to update your SSD firmware through Samsung or Western Digital. After I did this, it has resolved my issues. More information on this hardware/software bug here: https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/1gwdjhg/if_you_have_a_wd_ssd_and_are_experiencing_crashes/ Make sure your SSD is not listed here. If it is, you MUST update your firmware to fix this issue: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/ssds/western-digital-releases-fix-for-windows-11-24h2-bsods-users-are-strongly-advised-to-update-their-ssd-firmware 1 www.v303rdFighterGroup.com | v303 FG Discord

SharpeXB Posted March 19 Posted March 19 “Memory integrity helps prevent attackers from injecting their own malicious code and helps ensure that all drivers loaded onto the OS are signed and trustworthy.” I can’t say I’ve ever had any trouble with leaving this on. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
speed-of-heat Posted March 19 Posted March 19 It definitely cuts down performance, that was one of the reasons everyone said "W11 has worse perf than 10" initially, same with VMP... if people upgrade from 10, it's off by default, if you install 11 fresh it's on by default 1 2 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Not worth compromising security for. I’m already running games at 4K Ultra and 120Hz. So why bother? One of those Asus tweaking utilities was asking to turn it off. But no for me. EightyDuce Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Double check you have the latest drivers installed for all of your hardware. I would recommend trying something like SDI (snappy driver installer). It will search for missing/out of date drivers for all of your hardware. It is vetted and open source. https://www.snappy-driver-installer.org/ https://sdi-tool.org/ I'm not affiliated with SDI, but have used it for several years and it has been a lifesaver for finding up-to-date drivers for components that are often overlooked or have conflicting generic windows drivers installed. 1 Windows 11 23H2| ASUS X670E-F STRIX | AMD 9800X3D@ 5.6Ghz | G.Skill 64Gb DDR5 6200 28-36-36-38 | RTX 4090 undervolted | MSI MPG A1000G PSU | VKB MCG Ultimate + VKB T-Rudders + WH Throttle | HP Reverb G2 Quest 3 + VD
BitMaster Posted March 22 Posted March 22 FWIW: One of the recent official Win11 images that you could download from MS had an issue that it wouldnt allow installation of further updates and general issues and users who have those issues are advised to redownload the latest image from MS that has this issue fixed. Iirc it was the image from around Oct '24 till a month ago or so. I think Google holds the info about the ISO in question, so you can check if you used this unlucky ISO image and got stuck. If yes, do it again Jack, with a proper ISO. ...and some installs just go south from the first minute on, seldom but does happen. Wipe it, and start all over before you invest more time in fixing quirks.
