I ran across a nice use of Export.lua to push Multiplayer server data to a web page.

The web page will display:

(1) Players in the game.

(2) Map with aircraft icons that show Plane Type, Pilot Name, Course and Altitude.

(3) Debrief type events log of mission activity.

The page is located at: http://lockon.but.ru/

Found while browing the other forums:

(note; if you dont see a anyone in the server check the local time stamp on top of the main page)

Wasn't there a problem w/people using this exact thing in IL2/FB/AEP as a cheat? It really had them up in arms over there for quite a while.

i thought in 1.1 the server determined what was allowed to be exported.

personally i thought it sounded pretty cool, but if you were doing a comp or something then as long has the server has the ability to dis-allow the information being sent then i cant see a problem with it.

yeah, the server decides what is exported but I wonder if it also pushes to the client the info as to what it is set to... or maybe we will need some kind of script to extract from the server what the server's lua does and what it pushes client side . It would be nice to be able to know all that .

The server has all the vector data available to it and can export it as needed. Basically the map is like 1.02 F10 view. ED may want to place export restrictions on maps that have F10 turned off, or at least use the mission options for F10 in the export code. (Just a thought)

When all else fails, Eject then read the manual.

Oh, and a good wingman helps.
