Woogey Posted April 22 Posted April 22 (edited) There are probably some already, but please include some more in the south like Neuschwanstein and Hohenzollern Castle. Edited April 22 by Woogey 10
Bremspropeller Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Neuschwanstein won't be on the map scope. Hohenzollern should be in Phase 3. Generally, there should be more prominent sights (e.g. Wartburg at Eisenach, Sanssouci at Potsdam), to navigate by. 7 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!
Ian Boys UK Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Ehrenbreitstein would be good ... It's massive and conspicuous by its absence. 4

Tengah Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Hear, hear for the Schloss's, also, will the Ruhr Dams be modelled? Specifically, the Mohne, Eder, and Sorpe? 2
Thadeyus Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Sadly one of the most iconic Castles is missing, Burg Elz, the Castel which was Engraved on the 500 Deutsche Mark note. Located about 30k. south East of Koblenz (N50°12‘18“E7°2ß‘12“) it just has to be on the Map. 3
Thamiel Posted April 24 Posted April 24 The two major problems with castles (and with almost all german monumental landmarks for that matter) are: they are all unique and there are so many of them. Its kind of an uncanny valley to see a known landscape representing itself just nearly like the real deal. 1 Modules: A-10CII | F-5E | AV-8B | M-2000C | SA342| Ka-50-III | Fw 190D-9 | Mi-24P | SU-33 | F-4E | F-14B | C-101CC | F-86F | AH-64D | F-16C | UH-1H | A-4E-C | AJS-37 | P-47D | P-51D | Bf 109K-4 | CA | SC Maps: Cold War Germany | Nevada | Syria | Persian Gulf | South Atlantic | Kola | Sinai | Normandy | Channel Setup: Ryzen9 5950X | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 4090 | 2TB M.2 NVMe | TM Warthog & TFRP Rudder | Reverb G2 | OpenXR/TK | Win10 Affiliation: [TM]Tigermercs
OneEyeRoss Posted April 26 Posted April 26 There are some schloss and burg that really should be included, even though I do know it would be rather intensive work - some examples are the Burg Friedberg. While Friedberg itself is just a generic town, it really needs the Burg in the north part of town - it is a landmark that is used for navigation. (On a personal note, not having Ray Barracks was a let down, but I get it, there are SO MANY kasernes in Germany, hard to make them all).

AND, to this end, the castles often served as a backdrop for many military posters for the nearby flying units, who often sold these prints to support their squadron funds. Cochem Castle is another, on the Mosel River. They are all part of THE ambience of the Cold War for many military members.
