With the update on the 21.05.25 we got AAW and Hospital Markers on the map. While a neat idea this leads to two issues:
Firstly it can lead ot confusion for players as they see SAM or EWR markers even if the mission has nothing there.
Secondly and more important it causes issues for mission editor, as the markers are very big, do not scale very well and most importantly are not see through. So the only options are to either hide the "building" layer (which will also hide all buildings) or work exclusively in satellite mode.

While fully removing them might not be in the interest of the developer I would suggest taking inspiration by the Sinai map as it already has a very similar feature. Scaling better with zoomlevel and being partially see through.

SAM markers are nice to have, but personally Id rather not have them over this implementation. The Map is already super cluttered with all the helipad markers, so blocking places entirely like this is adding to an existing problem.

Fingers crossed for a fix soon.

This.  Really wish there is a way to declutter all the labels in general.  Maybe only show helipad names when zoomed way in.

OK, and this is just me spitballing here:  We knew where the SAM sites were....they were very evident.  And not knowing if they were active or had been moved in the days prior to the balloon going up was part of the problem (same with the GSFG, which was my thing to worry about).  So, if it leads to a bit of pucker factor, welcome to the immersion.  Embrace the suck.

Another one of my complains is that while some SAMsites are modeled, others are not. Aswell as non of the SAM sites looking remotely what they are supposed too. The SA5 sites especially are absolute eye-sores with how huge and out of place they seem. nullWe spent the better part of the last month creating a SAM network based on data we could find online and a good chunk of the SAMsites are no reflected correctly ingame. There is also a SA5 site down south near Fulda that we found no information on( Grid NB81 should be an EWR site from what we found. Also Grid UV87 shows a SAM marker but contains no site

Every colored dot is a SAMsite. Type based on color.

Same on my side - those SAM symbols are definitely no help, the way they are shown. Why not translucent or at least much smaller. Momentarily, they are just disturbing big time.

They are actually exactly as they should be

Keep in mind there wouldn't have been this many trees at the time it was in use.

I can't find any information on the SAM site in NB80 either

Use the Layers Filter to declutter the map and select what symbols to display:

Sadly they are bound under buildings.. which also removes the site itself.. and every city nearby.. most things except forests and roads actually.
Also this does not work ingame while flying

Yes, that is a temporary workaround while working in the ME, but the issues needs to be resolved by Ugra.

If a better solution is going to take a while, I would suggest removing them altogether until they are ready to be implemented properly.

Those SAM, RADAR and Hospital icons should be their own overlay in the M.E. map options.

Separate the airfields and helipad icons as well.

That is a work around yes but it’s often easier to edit in ALT mode and and we shouldn’t have to workaround this. Ugra managed it with the Syria map so I’m hoping it’s a quick fix soon.
