I recently set up some engagements of an AI Mi-24P versus human controlled AH-64D.

The first engagement was an AI Mi-24P armed with AT-6 versus my human AH-64D armed with AGM-114L. What was noticeable was that (1) the AI Mi-24 detected me launching a AGM-114L and (2) it took evasive action. Also noticed was that the Mi-24P launched an AT-6 at my AH-64 and the AT-6 tracked to my aircraft despite the AI Mi-24's violent evasive maneuvers. As the AT-6 is SACLOS guided by the Mi-24's copilot/gunner, it appears that even though the MI-24 copilot/gunner would have lost sight (and therefore broke the SACLOS guidance) of my AH-64 due to the Mi-24's evasive action, the AT-6 still guided onto my aircraft. This is highly unrealistic behaviour.

Second engagement was a rear aspect ambush wherein I allowed the AI Mi-24 to fly past my position and then took off and chased it down before firing my AGM-114L. As soon as I fired my AGM-114L the AI Mi-24 took evasive action. How the AI Mi-24 either knew that I was astern of it or that I had fired a AGM-114L at it is a complete mystery. The Mi-24 is equipped with the SPO-10 RWR which detects radars in the HJ Bands (Mhz). The AH-64 FCR operates in the Ghz band and so does the AGM-114L's onboard guidance radar.

While I know that the Hind is still early access it appears that little is being done to have this module operate realistically.

Module operates fine, it's the AI thing.

Indeed. Having been in the Mi-24P in similar situations, the lock on any ATGM guided by Petrovich gets lost as soon as you maneuver aggressively. You can even "screw up" the aim if you maneuver without storing the visor beforehand (Ask Petrovich to stop targeting).

I also was hit from the rear by a friend flying the AH-64D firing 114L at me (he said "Oh, a butterfly!" then proceeded to fire 🥲) and I had no warning of incoming missile either from RWR or Petrovich (the shot came from my 6 o'clock at around 5km).

So the module works fine when flown by a human in the described situations. You describe issues with the AI behavior, which is probably not specific to the Mi-24. I remember seeing planes like MiG-21 flaring when I approach from their 6, radar off, and firing a Fox2. I don't think those older planes have MWS. The AI in the game just has less limitations than human pilots.

The AI can do things like that. They all have a 2000s era RWR (a MiG-19 will happily call out and identify SAMs in its front quarter...), radar from an F-16 (ED is working to fix that, at least) and MWS from the A-10. Ka-50's LWR comes standard for them as well. I suspect ED took some shortcuts when they originally coded the AI, it might have been fine when the aircraft selection was more limited, but now it's rather egregious.

It's AI fault. ED is actively working on AI right now, AI ground forces progress is already noticable, and things like AI aircrafts having generic RWR, LWR, uninterrupted guidance etc. are very important to adress, as they are copletely changing the tactics. Making some legitimate ways impossible. Especially because this things are way easier to solve then AI behaviour in complex situations.
