The tanker is not responding to my ready pre contact call via the ARC210 radio. The initial rejoin call is normal and thereafter the KC135 is not responding anymore. If I use the ARC164, everything is as it should be. Anyone experiences the same or can replicate my issue?

You got a short track perhaps? If you established contact via the ARC210, there is no reason he should stop communicating with you via that radio.

Do you have easy comms off? Confirmed you are still using the correct Mic Switch?

Okay, seems to be a different problem. I’ve bound mic switch fwd, aft and down.

When I press down, the UHF radio comes up on the menu, fwd is VHF FM and aft opens the intercom menu and if I open the default communication menu with \, then the arc210 appears. I guess there is something wrong?! Especially that thing with the intercoms menu seems weird?! How do I open a comms menu for the ARC210 without the standard „\“ key?!

Should be ARC-210.

That is certainly odd.

Can you double-check and confirm that your bindings are:

  • HOTAS MIC Switch Forward (call radio menu)
  • HOTAS MIC Switch Down (call radio menu)
  • HOTAS MIC Switch Aft (call radio menu)

And of course that they're properly bound to the respective directions on your HOTAS. When you go to the control bindings menu for the A-10C II module and have the category "All But Axis Commands" selected, it should jump right to the assigned keybind when you press a key.

I just tried a simple refueling mission and it seemed to work okay for me, the forward bind activated the ARC-210 just as it should.

All correct. Maybe there is an issue with Vaicom/Voiceattack.

VHF FM? I thought the ARC210 is VHF AM? Or do you just mean the mic switch?

The ARC-210 is a multi mode radio. It can do the whole VHF and UHF ranges of the other radios, most of them both AM or FM.

So Mic Switch Forward should be neither FM nor AM (not exclusively, that is), and is better referred to as "ARC-210" instead.

If your Mic Switch Forward shows FM, as in ARC-186 FM, then that's certainly wrong. If it shows a frequency from the VHF FM range, that's well within the ARC-210 capabilities and may as well be correct. If you could double-check what it shows in the radio menu, that might clear things up in this regard.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I figured it out now, there was an issue with VAICOM. So far, everything is working as it should be 👍🏼. Thanks mate!
