bephanten Posted May 28 Posted May 28 i have been dreaming about colliding bullets in dcs. is it possible to collide two bullet? also what is the resolution of bullet trajectory calculation in terms of numeric data type?
Gun Jam Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I doubt it. Its been my observation that dcs can not simulate anything and as such any interaction that takes places likely required coding to make it happen. If a developer did not think of that interaction or did not consider it necessary then that interaction would not occur. This ls likely true for most software other than those that exist simply as physics simulators. 3
Dragon1-1 Posted May 29 Posted May 29 This would be extremely unlikely to happen in any case. It's not worth the performance to check for bullet to bullet collisions. 4 1
silverdevil Posted May 30 Posted May 30 i know this situation is quite different. in 2019 i had mk-20s running into each during the decent. this is from tacview. however, i have military experience and bullets colliding would be an uber improbability. so rare that modeling it probably is not worth it. 2 AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. VFXBLENDER Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Bullets in DCS already have decent collision physics, with the ground and other physical objects. Bullets colliding with each other though, I don't really think it would be necessary. And yeah, there only would be a rare probability of such collisions happening, that's why that feature is not in the game. Also it would cause a larger form of lag, especially on low-end devices. 3
