Qcumber Posted Monday at 05:52 PM Posted Monday at 05:52 PM My AI friend HAL informs me that: "...the Mosquito saw service in various roles, including reconnaissance, strike missions, and anti-shipping duties." I would appreciate some expert (and human) advice on this. Is there any scope for historical use in the WW2 Marianas map? 1 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64Gb RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4). speed-of-heat Posted Monday at 05:57 PM Posted Monday at 05:57 PM i think you could contrive it , but i dont believe it would be historically accurate... 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
Mr_sukebe Posted Monday at 06:21 PM Posted Monday at 06:21 PM As I understand it, Mosquito’s were sent to India for use in the Burma campaign. I don’t believe that the RAF had any involvement in the Marianas. The potential “what if” that springs to mind would have been if the Japanese had not surrendered, even more so if the Soviets had not invaded Manchuria. As we know, if the Japanese hadn’t surrendered, the plan was to invade Kyushu first in late 1945’ and the mainland in 1946. By then, the Royal Navy Pacific fleet would have been more fleshed out and as I understand it, the intent was to also have British troops during the invasion. “If” that had happened, it’s possible that Mossies might have deployed out. 1 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

Qcumber Posted Monday at 06:57 PM Author Posted Monday at 06:57 PM Thanks for the quick replies. I'll do some research and see what I can find out. Of course we need the Beaufighter really! 1 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64Gb RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4). Mr_sukebe Posted Monday at 08:28 PM Posted Monday at 08:28 PM and the Meteor. It was already flying in squadrons in 44', though initially held back from flying over enemy territory. By late 45', there might have been a decent amount of them, and with no Germany to deal there's a good chance of them seeing action in the east. It's an interesting point that the Meteor was faster than the Shooting Star (IIRC), and it's possible that the US might have bought quite a few Meteors, just as they later bought Canberras. 1 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

Definitely the Meteor. Good for Korea too. 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64Gb RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4). Holbeach Posted Tuesday at 09:52 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:52 AM (edited) I've been trying to make a mission with the Mossie from Tinian North field against an invasion on another island, but have been unable to take off. I'm guessing runway physics don't exist here. All other airfields are normal. Maybe someone could confirm this. Edit. Yes that's it. I think I will have to wait for WWII version. I can get off at a very light load, but that's no use. Jets are possible. .. Edited Tuesday at 02:54 PM by Holbeach 1 ASUS 2600K 3.8. P8Z68-V. ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2080Ti, RAM 16gb Corsair.
