The more campaigns I play, the more I hate that there's no save feature..

I really recommend playing this one with immortality selected

I don't like immortality, it ruins immersion for me. Same thing in M08, shot down in the huge furball.

Well, you have 3 options:

a) don't get shot down

b) get shot down but survive because you're immortal

c) get shot down and try again

This also coincides with my order of preference

I don't have time for C, it's almost 2 hours getting to that point. I guess I'll have to toggle B and try for A. Though it feels like cheating.

ED working on it… however now it’s present in DCS (with many bugs so pity).

I've been hardcore  but that means I skip the missions.

I almost always tested the missions in immortal mode but I remember once flying mission 5 and it was already at the holdshort when I realized I forgot to select immortality. It was one of the most stressful 1.5 hours of my life - but it was certainly more memorable than any of my other playthroughs

That's exactly what I'm going for! That edge is not there if your immortal. Might not be there if you've just saved, maybe just like a half time save mark. When your pushing from IP or something.

I tried immortality mode but was not satisfyed after the end of the mission. I tried it without later and when I finally survived it felt much more satisfying. I think it was M04 or so. Its allways dissapointing when you get shot 1 hour or even more in the mission. Especially the Debten Eagles missions were you fly to france for hours just to hit you with the blast of your own bomb were quite challanging for my mind, but its still the only way I can enjoy it.
