Game freeze and crash

Was flying on The Channel map a Free Flight mission in the F4U Corsair. After a few minutes game froze and crashed. Files attached.

hello.

your problems appear to be video card and or drivers. before the crash there are hundreds of this error prior.

this could be overclocking on video card, including factory OC. it could be a driver issue. or at worst a malfunctioning card.

I was wrestling with a similar problem for days. Countless freezes and crashes, sometimes shutting my PC down completely. Initially I thought it was because I’d moved my DCS folder to a new drive and had made some sort of error during the transfer process. 

I even went for a completely clean install of DCS and ran at vanilla settings. Still got freezes. That led me to conclude it wasn’t the sim.

In the end I updated my MB BIOS and that cured it. Not a single crash or freeze in 2 days. I have a ROG Strix Z790-F gaming WiFi MB.

Got the freezing and crashing cured, it was one setting in drivers that had slipped unnoticed. I run EVERYTHING on default/application controlled on my GPU to minimize any conflicts with the game. Still have not found the cure to the "spiking" on FPS and VSync anomaly though. All other games and sims run flawlessly.

Excellent that you solved it, just want to point out for everyone that a full reinstallation is a completely waste of time. To revert the sim back to plain vanilla, perform a full repair and rename the DCS folder under your Saved Games. That's all there is to it.

If I might add to the topic; Try disabling EXPO in Bios, restart the game and see if it helps. Cheerz!
