Kirai Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Maybe this is already covered somewhere but I have searched for an answer but can't find anyone. If I want to uninstall DCS and then reinstall it and want to keep my progress what files do I need to backup? Go Ugly Early

EDIT: in the temp folder you see 2 folders at a guess. but im on 1.0.1 patch now Thanks, I'm also on the 1.0.1 patch now but I read that some people had to uninstall and then reinstall DCS first but mine seem to work. I'm from Sweden and first I didn't know what you meant by R.T.F.M so I searched on google and I was like WTF??? o.O. I have read the manual, all pages but well it is almost 400 pages and I can't remember finding an answer for my question in there :) Go Ugly Early

sweinhart3 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Ive had to backup my files before. I dont have the game folder in front of me now but I believe its under scripts/players folder or something like that. Copy the whole players directory to wherever u want your backup location. Only thing was it didnt save my keyboard mapping which is annoying but I mainly wanted my profile and campaign status saved which it did. Kirai Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 did the fresh install fix the problem with the patch? Fresh install then install patch 1.01?? I did not have any problems installing the patch in the first place either, I mean I did not install DCS again because off that, I did it because I installed windows 7 so I don't know but anyway, it worked installing over the old install and over the fresh, the only thing I had to do was to activate with the licence key again after the fresh install.
