Oasis Driver now in Steam Store for windows mixed reality

After a week or more of a lifeless VR headset and numerous attempts at fixes...not to mention pulling my hair out my reverbG2 came back to life.

I pinned it down to running steam as an administrator.

First time trying that one.

The show goes on....maybe it helps a fellow reverbG2 user.

 

Edit...first time trying to load dcs..it took a long time and loaded to 2d only.

Second time got a hard computer crash and had to plug the power.

The tweaking continues..but the headset is alive in steamvr..so not a lifeless brick.

Basically the DCS 0.001 FPS loading screen was causing issues.

So finally got around to trying this and the new OASIS driver is nothing short of revolutionary!

it was easy to install, instructions are clear and straightforward. Performance in terms of FPS and smoothness are similar but image clarity is way up since I can use the default Steam VR resolution.

updated from 23h2 to 25h2 with no issues.

Ok, I screwed up. I read about the Oasis driver on Reddit and have HP Reverb G2. I installed it and could not get it to work right. I went to the troubleshooting page and .... saw it was not supported for Windows 10. I am still on Windows 10. I uninstalled the Oasis driver, re-enabled the WMR driver, but I get an Error 1-8. I guess uninstalling all WMR drivers and reinstalling them?

I did not do this as I don't know if I can still download and or install them for Windows 10. I can also upgrade to Windows 11, but I would like to do it from a clean install. The reason I have not done that yet is that it was working fine. I have a medium system, AMD 5600X, AMD 6800 with 64GB RAM, and I was able to get a decent frame rate/experience. I have several mods installed and dont know which ones make it better. It was kinda like if it is not broken, don't change/fix it.

Any other suggestions?

There is a page called "deep cleaning" on the wiki explaining how to undo everything.

Thank Mbucchia that fixed it. I will take my time to prepare for the upgrade to Win11 and then use it again.

Thank you so much for your work mbucchia!

I’ve an issue my G2 goes black after 15 seconds in DCS the tracking is working with the sound but no display on the helmet. I’ve an error regarding HDCP in steam vr (all was  working with WMR).
