Zligor Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Thanks for the reply. Probably i will reinstall windows and start from beginning. Even after uninstalling all meta software there could be something left in registry. What is troubling me now is smearing of the image when i move my head. It looks terrible. Motion reprojection is off and pc i strong enough. It smears in every game, even hl alyx on low settings. Some people on internet says that it's normal for oled to smear on motion. I don't believe this much is normal. If anyone knows, help. And is it normal to see squares of eye tracking that follows eyes when adjusting play area? Yesterday i installed psvr2 toolkit and eye tracking works in dcs, played it. 5800X3D, RTX 4070ti super, 32Gb DDR4, 2Tb nvme m2, Win10, PSVR2 with PC adapter on 90Hz, Eye tracking and QWFR

You can play with the size of the foveated region and the border region in quad views companion to tweak it but it’s always there a bit. There is a bit of smearing I noticed in the PSVR2, some of it for me was DLSS introduced. It is more than it is in my Pimax Crystal Super (but different worlds in price there!), but less than in the Quest Pro.
RealDCSpilot Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) @Zligor Consider switching to Win11 when reinstalling Windows. It has the much better CPU scheduling and ReBar implementeation. HAGS should run without problems not like on Win10 where it is hit and miss. I can't say anything about smearing, not really something that is noticeable on my device. Mine is from the first batch when it got released. Is production quality that random with the PSVR2?? Zligor Posted September 30 Posted September 30 You know what is strange about that smearing. When i look at some object and fast rotate my head right, i see smearing not just left of the object, but even little bit to the right. How thats possible? Like software predicts something about movement. An no smearing while moving head left an right, only when rotating 5800X3D, RTX 4070ti super, 32Gb DDR4, 2Tb nvme m2, Win10, PSVR2 with PC adapter on 90Hz, Eye tracking and QWFR

Normally the display is very fluid, especially at 120Hz.
skynetsysadmin Posted Thursday at 05:20 PM Posted Thursday at 05:20 PM I tried this yesterday. Installed the first tool, PSVR2 toolkit. The second tool, OpenXR Eye Trackers, is shown as deprecated, so I skipped it. installed the Quad Views Foveated. Followed the instructions for the configuration. This caused DCS to become unstable for me. The first attempt, I got as far as the mission load, and DCS hung. The second and third attempts it hung in the DCS main menu screen. Uninstalled the Quad Views Foveated tool, and DCS is back to normal again. Anyone else having difficulties? Maybe something with the recent updates to DCS is breaking this?
Zligor Posted Thursday at 05:33 PM Posted Thursday at 05:33 PM I had installed quad views foveated tools and quad view companion and was using it for fixed foveated rendering on quest2 for a year or so. Then i bought PSVR2 and installed PSVR2 app and PSVR2 toolkit. It works allways,no errors. Could be wrong steps for you,idk 5800X3D, RTX 4070ti super, 32Gb DDR4, 2Tb nvme m2, Win10, PSVR2 with PC adapter on 90Hz, Eye tracking and QWFR
skynetsysadmin Posted Thursday at 08:11 PM Posted Thursday at 08:11 PM It's not really possible to follow the original instructions to the letter anymore because... So, if I read this correctly, the functionality is now in the first tool in the instructions, the PSVR2 Toolkit. I was able to rename old/install new DLL with no issues. Next, I installed the msi for the Quad-Views-Foveated. The instructions for this tool also state that all you need is the PSVR2 Toolkit. The last part is the Steam VR and the DCS settings. But it just causes DCS to hang now. It looks like the September 2025 changes might have broken this for new installs. if you installed this before the change, maybe it works fine.

You need also xr eye trackers. It is not developed anymore but still it is necessary with the psvr2 R9-9950X3D 96GB RTX-4090 LG-38GN950 Sony PSVR2 Moza AB9 FFB Base + Moza MH-16 Grip, VKB Stecs Max, VKB T-Rudder MKV, Razer Tartarus V2 Secrets Lab Tytan, Monstertech ChairMounts

The only way I can get it to run without hanging is to disable the 'Emulate quad views foveation support' in the Steam VR settings.
Ron Posted Thursday at 10:30 PM Posted Thursday at 10:30 PM (edited) In the c:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Quad-Views-Foveated\ folder, there's a *.log file that's created after each program launch. Open it and you'll see a possible reason for the freeze. Can you tell me what I need to install to get this app? I use XRNS as before, you just need to enable the layer in the OpenXR tab like QVF. Thanks This is an issue with SteamVR. It is due to DCS loading screen (is ED going to ever fix those?). Opt into the SteamVR Beta to resolve it. It was fixed in this update: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/250820/view/505086494235427751 3rd bullet point under OpenXR section. DCS was also hanging without the OpenXR-Eye-Trackers installed. @VirusAM in this thread indicated that it was still needed, so I reinstalled it. I found another thread on this forum that indicated some mods can break this, specifically the Open Kneeboard mod. I don't have that, so it's not the issue. Thanks for the tip!

This solved my issue and boosted my fps by 11%. Most importantly, DCS doesn't hang anymore...for this. I mean, it is still DCS. Recap: Install the latest PSVR2 Toolkit. Install the Quad Views Foveated. Use the SteamVR beta. No need for the OpenXR-Eye-Trackers anymore. Enjoy extra fps. Edited 10 hours ago by skynetsysadmin 1
Zligor Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Nice to see that it works now I still think that much more fps we can get by cropping image like it is done with oculus tray tool on quest. In VR we don't see entire picture, more like some 90ish% even when eye leaches tuching the lenses. For people that use glasses crop could go easily to 80% or more. Why to waiste resources on FOV that we don't see? 5800X3D, RTX 4070ti super, 32Gb DDR4, 2Tb nvme m2, Win10, PSVR2 with PC adapter on 90Hz, Eye tracking and QWFR
