I got past the low fps area, once I took off, it was ok.  Im just getting started in this dlc.

It was after the intro, starting at Nellis being introduced to Paco, being in that parking area was most problematic

It was a studder..turning off mirrors help

So I point finger at maybe too many objects on the ground on nellis

Cause I can fly multiplayer with tomcat at 90 fps VR no prob

Note im running 5090 and 9800x3d, modest graphics settings

FYi performance depends on a thousand factors. Your rig, your drivers, windows settings, softwares running, the optimization of DCS, the optimization of the module you fly, your display device, just to name a few.

such campaign missions will always be more resource heavy (populated) than, say a multiplayer mission or a free flight, but it’s pretty low on the list of what causes bad performance.

check out my optimization guides on my youtube channel maybe there are a few low hanging fruits.

im just sharing my experience with you.

my PC is highly optimized. i delet fxo, win11 always up to date, i run DDU uninstall every time there is a nvidia update.

i run quad views VR. not everything is set to high though i have a beefy PC.. im usually on multiplayer and i have NO issues other than what i have posted about your dlc.

i did make a multiplayer mission once that had way too many objects that cause not only my machine to studder, but who ever join the mission.

it is not my PC that is the issue.

but its ok, you dont want to hear is the campaign so, that it then.

i been running the fam flight and learning alot.  you campaign is good, other than being at the nellis spawn area at the start.

The problem with optimization is that every person plays on a different rig. If I remove the statics, it will run well for those with a lower end pc but will look plain and uninteresting for those with a good one. I’m defo not overpopulating the base, only the vicinity of the player.  I can’t possibly offer and maintain several versions with different levels of statics. I need to draw the line somewhere.

my theory is, if it runs OK for me, on my old laptop, in VR, then everyone must be able to run it.

if you check my video, there are a few settings you can use for populated missions such as lowering the lod factor a bit. It does miracles.

oh and there’s been that bug since ED moved texture loading to a different thread it struggled and stuttered, several people reported it - so again, it’s not the mission that should keep adapting every month to the current state of dcs and the player’s settings. It’s the other way around.

I know tone doesn’t come accross in writing, I’m not saying this in an offensive nor in an offended, defensive way. I’m just saying what my experience in dcs and the mission editor has been like over the past 10 years.
